AFM Z is still sick :( I am hoping she wakes up feeling better today, she finally had a decent nights sleep last night. I am finished work for the year and trying to get ready for our drive south. DH's work Xmas party this Friday, mum is flying up to look after the kids so we can stay overnight. The party is at the Casino and I cant wait for my buffet breakfast on Saturday minus 20 sticky little fingers lol.

Mum is going well, thanks for asking. They took her to have a scan on her foot yesterday and hopefully the surgeon would have seen her at some point yesterday. I will call her today and see how it went and what the plan is.

Got confirmation in the mail yesterday of A's preschool place! YAY! it makes it much easier for me to plan my year now I know he definitely has a place.

Noni! great to see you in here babe! been a loooonngg time! have missed seeing ya around! I *think* we are fairly prepared for christmas this year. i will do some potato salad, a roast chook and as small a ham as i can find (it will only be us and my Opa this year).

MD: Leila and Marta are getting a cubby house! because that is a massive outlay the rest of the stuff is smaller, kitschy-tory stuff. like leila is getting a matchbox car, some colouring books and some clothes.

AFM: well we had some horrible person DESTROY all our christmas lights outside. i am so upset by it and feel awful that they invaded my home space while my baby was sleeping only a metre away :(

Well, console yourself sweety, you have all the love and christmassy joy you need inside your home...probably shines out like a christmassy beacon :hug:. (unlike the miserable **** who trashed your lights...they've already got the instant karma of a miserable existance)!!!

Clare, that sucks! I felt the same after someone broke into our sleepout - it is just so friggin' rude, and horrible when you know you were home metres away from them.

Trill, Yay for getting a preschool place. Refresh me on how many days he is going? Do you think he will be busting to go or a bit hesitant?

Santa is bringing W a bike, soccer net, fishing rod - we were aiming at summer outdoor things.

I went out last night for the first time since W was born!!! It was so great not to have to do the bed-time thing for once. I only stayed out until 10.30pm and didn't drink, but it was great. And I think DH caught a glimpse of how difficult it is getting them both to sleep. A ended up staying awake until 10pm, cried for 10 minutes and then went to sleep (until 4am!!!). She wouldn't let W get to sleep so DH took her out of the room and W went to sleep by himself which I have made a big deal about today.

All the activities are finishing up this week. I am already bored thinking about the next 5-6 weeks with nothing to fill in my days.

Cass, I hate it when people do crap like that. Someone in town had their lights pinched too and put an ad in the local paper wishing them well and that they hope they enjoy their new lights as much as they used to LOL. What annoys me most is that it probably isn't someone who will enjoy them, but a little turd who probably tossed them in the nearest bin.

Arte, I bet you didn't know yourself while you were out LOL. You should definitely do it more often though. A is excited about getting a new backpack and being able to play with all the things they have there, but he's not keen on the fact that I have to leave him there on his own. He'll be right though. He is just going for a full day on Friday.

MD, as you know we aren't *doing* Christmas, so it is just what will fit in the sacks I made. But I have in there a big bubble wand, a DVD, some little Hairy McClary books, some wooden fence for his farm and a little colouring in pack. I have no idea what any of the family are getting him.

And Mum is having her toe taken off on Friday. Poor thing is terrified she will wake up without her leg, which she knows that is irrational but she said she's seen too many movies where it has happened LOL. She is still a bit upset though at having to lose it completely though. I just said to her all it means is that she can't wear thongs anymore :lol: So now we don't know how much longer she will be in hospital for. I can't see her being in there at Christmas time, but it depends on how she recovers and if they need to do physio?

Trill, your poor mum, it must be really daunting for her. It's pretty common to have completely irrational fears before surgery...I guess it has to do with that loss of personal control, you hand yourself over in a state of complete trust to a bunch of people you know virtually nothing about. I imagine they will discharge her pretty quickly provided the wound appears to be healing (which could be dicey if she's still smoking) - too many germs in hospital - they seem to do a lot of physio through outpatients now.

Cass, well done getting those pretty blue lights up asap. Our council has a swat team that goes around removing graffitti within 48 hours, cos then the vandals don't get any satisfaction from seeing their tags up, works really well as a deterrent. So I reckon just keep putting those lights up and enjoying your Xmas cheer like nothing even happened. :hug:

Well I'm sitting at home in a world of pain...waiting to see dentist later today...am so totally over my face hurting! I've had weeks or probably months of it this year. I'm so used to it, it's nearly normal. I would just like to be able to eat a mince pie in comfort, please, Santa.

MD I hope the dentist can ease your pain. Your so right about it being Oprahs loss and not yours, she doesnt know how lucky she could have been.

I am all ready for Christmas. L is getting an Alphie Robot and Tag Jnr reading System. Then little things like matchbox and jocks etc.

G you had any luck with poo's on the toilet yet? None here, we had our first poo in undies the other day- while we were at the Dr's. I think it because he fell asleep in the car though.

I have been enjoying lots of pampering this week, its nice to spoil myself and feels great. Z seems to finally be getting better. The sun is out here today and I am just feeling really good.

no luck here with poos on toilet yet. basically he wears undies all day and then waits for his night nappy to go on and then poos in it. if he is busting for a poo in the afternoon he begs me for a nappy saying 'big boys wear nappies!' so funny. tbh i've given up stressing over it. i'm sure he'll get there eventually, just like every other step and stage that we've had so far that i've worried about iykwim?

i ordered an extra sneaky present for the boys from ebay- a cute little kiddie pool with a little slide to put out on our deck on hot days. that's my last present for them now though!

we are going out to dinner tonight, was supposed to be at 7.30pm but now the other couple we are going with have just changed it to 8pm! geez i'm going to be chewing my own arm off by then! that's like midnight around here. i really do think people forget what it's like to have young kids

girls what should i get for a birthday present for a 1 year old girl who has everything...and i really do mean everything. she has a 3yo sister so has hand me downs of all clothes and toys....

Well that was my biggest news out - we had POO ON THE TOILET last night (in the middle of dinner :lol:). Which was thrilling because I had been talking up how nice it is when it's in the toilet, no mess, feels better, etc but she has been going into her room and hiding behind the door and doing it in her pants instead (ie knows its coming, acts on it, but doesn't go to toilet :wall:). So hopefully this is the big TT breakthrough we have been waiting for!

MD woo hoo on the poo lol. Ahhh the things we parents get excited about....

G I am not stressing it either. Our L's sound the same. I was going to suggest buying a book too.

Hopefully I will get to go out a bit more now - it wasn't too traumatic for anyone and it was nice to socialise with the MG ladies without having all conversations interrupted by our children.

I think I have found some motivation to do something about my weight. The other day on the way home W said to me "mum, you are quite fat". He doesn't know it is an insult, it was just a casual observation like saying DH is tall, but man it hurt!
