Anastasia - don't know about the ez - hopefully SW will pop in with some advice for you on that one. Re head - dunno just shaped a bit funny so going to get it checked out. Probably nothing.
And its ok that DS came into our room - we dont' mind it as long as its not the middle of the night cos he usually pops in for a cuddle until its time to get out of bed... so we don't mind him coming in - he's not a 2am visitor.

    Morning!

Well mum has just left and oh f@rking hallelujah!! OMG im not going to let her stay here again.. i have been in such a bad mood since shes been here. She did absolutely nothing. After you girls mensioned that maybe she didnt want to tread on toes, i thought yeh maybe youre right. But when i had 2 kids screaming at me, while running around trying to get the turkey on and do washing.. shes too interested in making herself a friggen cup of tea, and which biscuit she can eat. This morning i have run around like a mad thing, getting both kids fed and dressed, beds made, putting 2 loads of washing on and hanging it on the clothes horses cos its bloody raining, washed bottles and dishes (including her breakfast stuff she just left on the sink!), cleaned Jesse's and Keira's rooms and the kitchen.. all while she sat on her a$$ watching tv. Never once asked if i needed a hand. Ive been so cranky with Jesse this morning just cos im in such a bad modd cos of her.. poor boy. Same all happened last night with dinner. I cooked it all and she just left her plate on the sink for me to wash up. DH had a bad headache ( he has washed up every other night) so didnt want to ask him to do the washing.. so again she sat on her butt while i washed and cleaned up.. after cooking her a friggen baked dinner. She doesnt play with the kids either.. just sits on her butt sipping her bloody cups of tea. The other night she was whinging (without saying anything, you know how people walk around with elephant feet and huff and puff) cos DH and i wanted to watch Rove and she didnt get to watch whatever she wanted. Next day all i heard was how bad tv was the night before. She also said oh ill buy Keira some tops if you like.. we get to the shops and she acts as if nothing had been said and I end up buying Keira's clothes. Ehh! Im so over it i tell you! Never bloody again. Im going very close to disowning my mother!
Ok rant over.. needed to get that out..

Kristy.. oh gawd already?? didnt you just get paid? lol what did you buy woman??? Good luck with Isaac's appointment. Yeh Friday im up for anything.. just have to wait for out inspection which is somewhere between 8.30-9.30am.

Mel.. well i think youre a hot mumma so bleehh to you lol. Oh funny little thing.. oow have you heard any foot steps in that house? When we were living at IL's house when i was pregnant with Jesse.. i was drying my hair one night in the bathroom and saw someone walk past towards the last bedroom. Thought it was DH and was waiting for him to come back to ask him something. Once i finished i went and looked in the end room and he wasnt there. He was still in our room. So went in there and told him what just happened. He then informed me that when his parents bought that house he was told by friends at school that the owners were Jehovous Witnesses and their son commited suicide in that end room. HOLEY MOLEY i was scared *****less of that house from then on and every time i woke to go to the toilet at night i would wake him and he had to wait up for me to come back. OMG it freaked me out so bad!

Morning Tasia! Not too sure about the ezcema question but im sure some of the other ladies here can help you out!

Ohh i feel so much more relaxed now.. think i might go make a cuppa before i have to do some more cleaning for this inspection.

ETA.. Mel i love Mr Cool! lol so cute!!

    Hi Anastasia

with eczema the best thing you can do is prevent it from getting bad. This means CONSTANT moisturising. We use Dermaveen moisturising cream - you can buy it in 500ml pump packs from the chemist. Never use soap on his skin. We always bathe Alyssa in Alpha Keri oil (followed by a good slathering of dermaveen!!). We also reapply the dermaveen on her face, arms and legs usually every second nappy change. When Jonathan is old enough to start washing his own hands and such, don't give him soap to do it with. Keep a pump pack of sorbolene by the sink for him to use. It's a cleanser as well as a moisturiser. If you really think you need something that feels a little more soap-like without being quite as drying, alpha keri wash is good. It's a bit harsh to use on little baby skin eczema-ish though.

When Alyssa gets a breakout of really dry, patchy skin we use a teeny bit of dermaid (0.5%) - which is a mild steroid. It usually clears things up within a day or two. Then back onto the dermaveen cream.

We usually buy her skin creams in bulk from one of those online chemists, but you're in Melbourne so you should have the outlets reasonably close by to save on shipping. There's a massive price difference between standard chemist prices and the bulk chemists!!

Excess heat can cause the eczema to get a lot worse, and so can bad materials. It's probably important going forward if you know that he's susceptible to eczema to make sure you buy natural materials for his clothing and bedding. We use only cotton and bamboo. Polyester can cause itching and sweating, which in turn causes eczema flare ups (or makes it worse!). We don't overdress her.

For winter, humid heat is better than dry heat. If you need to run a heater in his room, try to also run a humidifier.

That should be enough to get you on the right track!!!

    ----

on a side note, had an awesome time in Melb at lunch with Mez and Tan - your girls are both SOOOOOOOOOO beautiful!! Shame the other Melb mums couldn't make it - not every day you manage to organise peeps from multiple interstate locations to get there for a meetup!! Would have been great to meet you all (and your lovely little babies)

Pixie and Bear - also thoroughly enjoyed meeting you both. Once again, sorry for the messy state of my house!! In "sorting through the crap and getting ready to move" mode. Beth is just adorable =)))) How is she liking that spinny thing we sent you away with? Alyssa's hair is pretty cool =) Completely uncontrollable!! I'm still amazed at her lighter coloured tips =)))

Anyways - need shower while the girl is sleeping =)

    waves to all

Happy 4 months today to my precious Bubbablue!
    It's gone too fast already.

Kell - All I can really say about your mother is WTFFFF!? Even if she didn't do anything around the house, should could at least play with the kids. When I get in a really bad mood like that DS1 kinda cops most of it.

SW - Great to see you! With eczema is it like little patches of dry skin? and can be a little pinkish? but then the pink goes away and it's a bit drier? Is there a certain type that just flares up when it's hot but isn't there when it's not hot? Sorry about all the questions. I know I ask alot. I'm sorry.

Mel - Great pictures. That is an impressive weed! DS looks super cool. I love it. What's going on with your DD's head? Bubbablue's head is bit uneven, since he used to lay with his head mostly turned slightly to one side. It's getting better though.

Tasia - Hey sweet! Great to see you. I hope the Santa photo this weekend turns out greattttt!

Kristy - Good luck with the eye testing with Issac and the santa photos if you get them done.

It's a miserable day here today. Raining and just dull.
There was this awful tragedy here, well at the town 10-15min drive away on the coast, last night. It's so so sad. That's the first thing I heard on the news this morning when I got up. I'm not sure if you guys heard anything about it.
Where a father and his two boys died after failing off a wharf. I know the mother. It's so so so sad. I can't even being to imagine what she's going through.

At the moment Bubbablue and I are listening to some music. Everytime a song finishes and I'm not quick to choose another song he starts his little talking noises as if to tell me "hurry up mum, next song."

lol tenny that is sooo cute!!!!!! He is so adorable - happy 4 months to him babe!!!

SW - I knew you would be the guru to ask!!!

Kel - I think i would have slapped your mother!!! Jeez - whats she think it is - a B & B or something? Next time tell her to pull her finger out and help - or pee off.. lol... I'm glad my mum doesn't do anything like that..

So now we are thinking of moving to hervey bay (getting closer to you tan!!! only about 1.5 hours from you yeah?)

Ew I stink.. its hot today.. better go apply some BO killer - even though its obviously too late to help if I already reek.. lol

DS is sleeping..... Miss M is.. chilling in her chair.. lol

HAPPY 4 MONTHS!!! Damn, that has gone fast!

Eczema can be patches of dry skin, and yes it can be pinkish or just dry. Sometimes it can be cracked and bleeding skin (but always really dry). They don't go away without treatment, and often get worse. Some ppl only get it during hot weather, some get it all the time, so get it as a reaction to certain materials or allergies. If not treated it usually gets REALLY itchy, and frequently bleeds when scratched. Often causes bad and permanent scarring if you let it get too bad. Sweating makes it worse - so often people suffer with it in joints like elbows, under arms, etc. Alyssa gets pretty bad between her toes and on her wrist and ankle joints, and sometimes the folds of skin on her neck. She also gets it occasionally on her face and back. Actually, she pretty much gets it everywhere if we don't keep on top of it!

We're very lucky she's not a pukey baby - we don't need to bathe her too often (and bathing is one of the worst things for drying out the skin!!). Hopefully by the time she's old enough to be running around and needing bathing every day she'll be better at either helping moisturise herself, or wriggling less when we do it Or she'll be like the nephew and not understand why she can't just go and play after a bath, and be really upset about having to stand around getting moisturised!!

And no probs on asking questions, they say knowledge is power

Mel - hugs at ya babe =) Love ya!

    Thanks SW!
Bubbablue has had this little patches of dry skin on his sides kind of under his arm. One side is a bit more then the other. It was pinkish, but when I moisturised it a few times the pink went away and it was just dry. It seems ok now and not as dry. It kind of just came up when it was really hot and humid. I did think it may be eczema but I really don't know much about it if anything at all so I wasn't sure.

Should I get some Dermaveen for it?
It can't hurt either way anyways.

Tenny - yeah, dermaveen won't hurt either way. It's a good all round moisturiser. Things like the dermaid and other mild steroid creams should be avoided unless needed - they can lose effectiveness over time, not to mention it just not being good to use steroids wantonly!!

the main thing to hold off eczema is moisturise, moisturise, moisturise!!

hi girls, havent been around for ages, been flat out and Julia not been at daycare cause the Rotavirus is going around 15 cases eeek How are you all? I have so much to catch up on!

Tenny hon I have bad Eczema, the only thing that helps me is Cetaphil in the shower as a body /face wash and QV cream and also when its really bad a barrier cream called Silic 15. All other products make me itchier.

We did our Santa photo today! will have to take a pic of it to show you all

Mel - hope that Aricyn is feeling bit better today.

    SW good to see ya!

Morning folks.... well it's a bit rainy today so I piked out on the MG walk.... should have gone but just couldn't get my act together this morning... DD woke at 3 with teething pain, so timing was off, my hair was wet, she was in the middle of a feed, then did a big poo etc etc. So instead I went to Birkenhead and bought another pair of new jeans..... woops.
Tenny babe, that is so sad, it's all over the news here too. The poor mother I can't even imagine how devastating it must be to just lose everything in an instant like that. The Bear and I were joking on our trip back from Melbourne that the GPS wanted us to go and visit you instead of SW..... We were on the road that heads directly into Canberra, but the GPS wanted us to go all the way round by the coast back to sydney and arrive in canberra at 2am!
BIG HAPPY FOUR MONTHS TO HAYDEN!
Mel - love your dog!!!! I love beagles but I hear they're very nortie!
Belle - love the new avvy hun!
SW it was sooooo great to meet you and Alyssa is such a babe! love the tips! It was so cute the way she was playing with (or maybe beating up) Beth. I'll put those photos up a bit later.
Kristy - mmmmmm sultana cake the only problem with it is, it's the easiest thing in the house to eat....
Kel - seriously I would tell your mum the next time she starts dropping hints to come and stay that she is not welcome cause she treats your house like a hotel
Anyhoo suppose I should go and do something useful... like clean the bathroom, the plumber came yesterday and put in a new hot water heater so now I can rinse & repeat without risking hypothermia!
    to everyone I missed

SW - forgot to say thank you so much for the spinny thing! I have been putting her on it every day. She does like it, but she gets frustrated after about ten minutes. Then when you go to take her off it she clings on to the ladybug thing! LOL I have also laid her on her back and sat her up on it and spun it around... she loves it sitting up!
Tenny - just saw the photos of those two little boys they were so gorgeous... it's so sad.
missy - glad you're feeling a bit better!
Mel - boxers are the Bear's favourite! Sure you don't want to move to Sydney? Lots of law firms and architects here

Missy - not moved yet. Still in moving mode =) I'm flying to Adelaide with Alyssa on the 3rd of Dec, cats on the 4th, hubby on the 7th (after dealing with the removalists). The furniture should arrive about a week later!

Gonna be camping on a blow up mattress on the floor for a while and living on takeaway me thinks!

Tenny - V sad about those kids and their dad =( Excellent reminder to always use the brake when the pram is unattended, just awful that it came at such a terrible cost to someone =\
