MD, with you on the language jealousy. I would love it if they included Maori in the school curriculum. We are fortunate enough to have a bilingual teacher at kindy who shares a lot of culture and language but I have only picked up some very basic words and I am very conscious of pronunciation iykwim. We are only really taught colours, shapes, numbers and a few instructions in early school. Sad, because it is an official language of the country and I really think it should be taught (as well as sign language).

MP, I think it is pretty common to be doing backwards letters regardless of begin a lefty or righty. I have heard mothers group ladies talking about their kids still doing backwards S's and 3's at age 7. Then there is that whole bdpq disaster.
