Playgroups

I'm looking for a playgroup to join and having trouble!! Can anyone recommend one for me? I live in Mernda Vic. I've tried the Playgroups website and I'm getting a bunch of answering machines or incorrect email addresses. DOH!!! LOL.

While I'm here and if you feel like posting and are part of a playgroup somewhere, what is the best/worst things about your playgroup?

Give your MCHN a call, she may know of some in the area. Also check out local churches, many seem to have their own playgroup that may not be listed with Playgroups VIC. In my area our local council runs their own playgroup and a children services centre for children info, maybe your council has one as well. Good Luck!

.... as i found our local council had contact numbers & addresses for playgroups that don't even advertise on websites, etc ... so worth giving your council a ring too

Hey Corelly,

My sister runs one in Hurstbridge, is that too far for you to come across? Its only about 15mins I think by car. It runs on Wednesday mornings.

They have bubs ranging from 1yo (my mum takes my DD down when I am at work) through to almost 2yo.

She's super relaxed about everything, the kids basically have a big play for an hour or two and the mums have a chat. Its run in the MCH centre in Hurstbridge.

Astrid and Smiles4u - thanks for the tip of the council. I found one really close to me run by the uniting church so I'll give that a go.

OceanPrincess - thanks for the Hurstbridge suggestion and I'll pm you if that's okay if the church one doesn't work out.
