Has anyone got a tried & true method to remembering to do pelvic floor exercises?

I need to do pelvic floor exercises more often. The sneeze/cough/running/leaving it a bit long consequences are getting embarassing. I need a way to remember to do them. Anyone got a way that works?

I do them whenever I am on the phone... It has now just become habit - for a while I had a postit on my phone at work saying "in, out" and the joke was that I talk so fast on the phone I have to remember to breathe...if only they knew the real meaning...

Why don't you do them for 2 minutes every time you see a spunky guy? Hey, it is easy to remember ;p I seem to be doing them constantly, so I am not much good. How about when you are washing the dishes or chopping veg for dinner?

My friend has PFE written on her bathroom door so you see it every time you are on the loo!

There's always 'pelvic floor exercise' magnets at the community health centre where I go for my psych appointments, I take heaps of them and give them to my female friends haha they are good little reminders though!!

A friend of mine had a poem about them on the back of her toilet door.

    Pelvic Poetry

To tone those muscles down below
Remember this poem when you go
When taking a visit to the loo
This is what you should do

Take a seat and start to go
Then stop and hold in mid-flow
Repeat, three or four times or more
Think of the benefits to your pelvic floor

If your in a pregnant state
Do not think you can't relate
If we don't keep up our nagging
You may find your muscles seriously sagging

By looking after your pelvic floor
The enjoyment of sex is so much more
With those muscles nice and tight
This will add to his delight

So, don't forget to stop and start
Use your head, be really smart
Continue for life and don't forget
When your old, you won't be wet.

I had to do abdom muscle exercises and would do them in the car. Certain markers that i drove past regularly would remind me.

i read something about kegels not being the best exercises to do for the pelvic floor..... hopefully someone else has more info.

I do them in the shower. Standing is the hardest to do before jogging/jumping etc. I figured I'll try to do them as long as I can whilst in shower.

I remember reading as a teenager that Demi Moore had a saying, "touch water" and that every time she touched water (washing her hands, pouring a drink, whatever) she did her PFEs.

I thought that was a great idea, so I do that ...

Just a reminder ladies, if you're not clenching/lifting all three sets of muscles, you're not doing it right!

I do them at traffic lights - red lights, PFE.

I don't do them on the loo as it's not good to actually stop the urine flow - you should only do that to *find* your PFM.

There are heaps of different exercises to do, ones with fitball and lift/squeeze in rapid succession as well.
