afterpains

I was visiting a friend last night who has just had her second baby and she said that her afterpains from her uterus contracting back to normal size are heaps worse this time and that the midwife told her that they get worse with every baby. Is this true? Has anyone here noticed it? I remember the afterpains from Yasin being quite painful so I'm really hoping that its not the case for everyone.

i thought afterpains were a myth after the birth of my first to, but after i had lani omg it is no way a myth - i had them for over a week, everytime i fed lani, i was popping panadol every day and i don't usually take pain killers.

I hate to tell you, but yep... OUCHIES!! I never had any with Alecia, but with Emily... eeek! Everytime I put her on hte boob, I would dread the afterpains. But I can't really remember them being any worse with Violet... mustn't have been, if I can't remember...lol

I didn't have them this severe, but MIL told me that she had really bad ones with her 2nd but then none at all with her 3rd (which was DH).

Ewwwww they can`t be any worse then with the first bub can they 8-[

I never realised you could get afterpains with your first until I had Matthew oh I had a very rude awakening, ouchies, the midwives gave me Ponstan for the pain they worked really well.

I was petrified coz Mum told me that when she had me, she was buckled over at home thinking something terrible had gone wrong with pains..
I was scare having Indah, but had nothing, nothing with Maddy either!

I hope I dont get any with #3 either!!!

IT's day 11 today and after the first 5 days or so my pains disappeared, but today I had teh WORST after pains ever. ANyone had that after that amount of time? It wasnt' even when I was feeding.
