alternative to mini pill post partum

After the birth of DD i was given a script for the mini pill.
However never filled it as i didnt want to go back on hormones.

Really dont want to be back on artifical hormones for contraception after #2 is born..

    any suggestions?

    Yep, one.

Unless you want 3 under 3 like me, twice over, use SOMETHING!!!!!

But seriously, I hate taking things when b/f too so used natural method.

    Good luck finding something babe....

lol well BF worked well - i had to wean 100% to even get af back. But i am not going to rely on this.

Surely we dont have to pump our bodies full of hormones...

I dont want to be sticking diaphragms up there lol... and i at least i have prepared Dh that he will be DTD-less for at least 3 months!!

Can women have their fallopian tubes tied? and reverses like the men do?

I *think* we can have them clamped, but the reversal success rate isnt too good because it can scar the tubes....but thats only what I've heard, nothing I know for sure...

    Maybe a Mirena?

B'f never worked for me, mine were all b/f for around a year!!! And I was still pregnant within months of some of them!!!

Can I suggest you try the non-latex condoms - much better than the regular variety. Cost more but well worth it IMO. Plus, let's be realistic about how often you (don't) DTD in the first months - not worth stuffing all those hormones in for such an occasional event LOL.

There's a new birth control thing that gets inserted. Can't remember what it was called but my doc showed it to me recently. I didn't like the look of it though so ended up on mini pill. Not exactly happy with that either but didn't want to take any chances just yet.

I wouldn't get clamping done unless you are sure you are 100% certain that your family is complete as it's not always reversable.

The Mirena is one of the better options for bfing. It is still hormones, but as it is secreted directly to where it's needed it is a much lower dose. Worth looking into anyway, there really are very few options.
