Breastfeeding 15 month old and AF??

    Hi everyone,
I am still BF my 15 month old DD and AF returned 4 months ago. My cycles are still not back to normal (1 day AF and 6 weeks in between etc etc) and I was just wondering what other peoples experiences were? Is it normal to take this amount of time to become regular again? I have PCOS so haven't been regular for ages but the 1 day AF is bothering me a bit. Should I get it checked out?
    Thanks!

    Hi Amber,

I too have PCOS but getting AF back after baby and breastfeeding is different for all of us. I think some women do experience longer length cycles when AF returns after breastfeeding even if they do not have PCOS. Sometimes things take time. It depends on how senstive you are to the breastfeeding hormones and how often you are still feeding your DD.

My AF didn't return until DS was down to 2 feeds per day after 12 months of age, but I have had 2 regular cycles since (a little unusual for me!!!) with 6-7 day AF.

I'd get the 1 day AF checked out just for reassurance, it is a little unusual, but it could be part of the AF trying to get back to normal and not quite being there yet!!!!

Im still breastfeeding my toddler and my cycles are fairly regular now..not like clockwork but regular give or take a day. I got AF back when Sammy was 11 months and it took a few months to get back to monthly. HTHs
