Clots: when to start worrying? (may be TMI).

*Apologies if this is TMI, but I just wanted to get some advice on if I should be worried.*

I have AF atm. I've always been a really heavy bleeder for the first 4 days, even using contraceptive pill or an IUD.

This period has been a bit strange, with more AF pains that actually feel alot like wind pain IYKWIM. I've just had my usual 8 days of bleeding, then none at all yesterday or this morning, however whilst in the shower an hour ago I suddenly noticed a large clot on the shower floor. I hadn't even felt it 'exit'. A little while after that I had another one. They were both around 5cm long & 1.5 cm wide.
I'm not feeling any definite AF pains today, just a bit achy, but I'm not sure whether to be worried about the 2 clots. Does anyone have advice?

    Thanks in advance.

Eekk...i dont know what to say or advice....have u recently had a baby?

Id be contacting your dr for some advice or possibly the hospital?

Clots of that size sounds worrying to me.

Kimbaz, I haven't recently had a baby (but I have a 2 year old). I remember getting clots during lochia, both bigger & smaller than these.

Where I live it is very hard to get in to see a doctor, and unforunately none of the surgeries are open on Sundays anyway. The hospital is a half hour drive & I am currently on my own with our 2 y.o. I haven't had any more clots since I posted this earlier today, and no sharp pains still just achy. So I guess things are ok? I'm just confused.

I don't want to sound insensitive to anyone, but I have never experienced one so is it possible that this has been some sort of miscarriage? I have an IUD but I also know that contraception (other than abstinence!) isn't 100% effective.

ok well iuds can cause clots specially if u fall pregannt on them. it might be a small infection but dont be alarmed all they do is remove it and you take 10 days of anitbiotics. just see ur dr and they will advice a ultrasound and go from there. dotnt stress
