Dizziness before start of period and complete exhaustion

My period has been back for about 6-7 months and am I starting to get concerned. They aren't quite regular, 3-4 days out. The thing that I can't stand is that I get dizzy before they arrive and feel utterly exhausted like I have to struggle to do the most basic things. As you can imagine it isn't helpful with an active one year old. Did anyone have anything similar?

I got PND when they first arrived and think it is a hormonal issue as it happened straight after it came back when DS was 6 months old and I had been fine up until then. I'm thinking of calling my gyno but have no idea if he can help me?

To me, it sounds like it could be an iron related thing. I get a similar thing. I increase my foods with iron when I'm due. I used to take FeFol (iron and folate tablet) but found that it made me constipated last time. Perhaps talk to your GP and ask for some bloods to see what is happening next time.

I agree with MG. Perhaps request a blood test to check your iron levels for anaemia. If you have a history of depression post natally or you suspect a hormonal imbalance maybe ask for a thyroid test at the same time... you might as well. Let us know how it goes.
