Red face Do you still shop for clothes at maternity shops?

Recent special occasion - the only nice dress I could find that would fit was yep - you guessed it, a maternity dress. Lucky for me, maternity clothes these days are quite fashionable. (Wouldn't want to be turning up to a family wedding in a tent with a big neck tie bow now would I - but tempting if that was the only thing that fitted.)

I just can't get normal dress to fit, but the cut of maternity clothes is brilliant - no waistline, small pleats to hide the belly. I still haven't found my waist post baby #2 and well, let's face it everything is even more stretched and saggy second time around.

Problems is I really need some new clothes again - just normal everyday clothes - would like a dress - where am I going to go? The local maternity shop is tempting - nice things in there - but it is a bit embarrassing when you are not UTD.

Am I the only one who still needs maternity clothes?

I haven't actually bought anything maternity since giving birth but I sure have been tempted. I have lost my waistline since giving birth so I'm finding it really hard to find anything that's flattering in regular clothes. I am constantly looking at the maternity section in shops. My DF tells me not to look cos I'm not pregnant.... he just doesn't get it. I do still wear a couple of my mat tops & I live in my mat jeans still - 6 months on. I'm back to work in 2 weeks & I have no idea what I'm going to wear as a lot of what I wore when pregnant has worn out. Maybe I'll actually do some shopping in the mat dept.

I'm still wearing mine and am too scared to go and try on anything new, I don't fit into any of my pre-preg clothes the second time around.
My hips and thighs seem to have doubled and now there is the overhang belly, not pretty!!
Bit sad when you only feel comfy in an elastic waist

Yep - just about everything from the waist down is maternity. Sigh. Just cannot believe 4.5 mths on am still wearing elastic waist stuff. Might have to (gulp) exercise soon. Oh well, was worth every extra cm; her smile pretty quickly makes me forget about being one size bigger! Gush.

I have been tempted many times to buy maternity clothes but talked myself out of it. I feel gross and hate shopping. I have bought a couple of things from plus size stores such as City Chic. They have really nice stuff and I get to buy size small there! Will try to lose some weight now.

Ok, I am convinced now - I am NOT going to shop at the maternity shops.

I bumped into someone I hadn't seen for a while (who did not realise we had a #2) and was asked "Are you expecting #2?" OMG - I wasn't even wearing maternity clothes!!!!!

"No, here he is sitting in the pram?"

Now I am off to lose some weight.
