    First time DTD since..

    Ok..

DH and i ventured to DTD for the first time since Jesse was born (had a long episiotomy recovery) and like it is commonly known, it hurt. I couldnt get him very far in without it hurting and it did feel a little tight but i dont know if thats just because it hurt and i didnt want him to go in any further and also maybe because it has been a while.

Im just curious as to where it hurt for others. For me it was where my stitches and skin tag were. I saw an OB since who removed the skin tag and did a Pap Smear and he never mensioned that it was stiched up too tight. It is still a little tender when pressed, i had a second lot of silver nitrate applied on the 4th Dec.

Im just wondering if this is a common thing or do i have issues down stairs that will need to be looked at? :frown:

I don't have much expirience in tears or anything like that. I had a C/S with both my girls, but with my first, I had gone thru labour and pushing and failed vac extraction and I do know that DTD for the first time was VERY painful. So I can imagine how it was for you hon. My advice would be to just take it slow, use LOTS of KY/lube and hugs and foreplay for you by DH/DP (that never goes astray hey?!) and if it still hurts maybe ask a DR to just check if something might be causing it.....? Goodluck, I hope you can start enjoying sex again very soon!

I only had a small tear that required a few stitches but I found that sex hurt for quite a while. We didn't successfully DTD until around 11-12w after birth and it continued to hurt a bit for some months after that although it did gradually get better with time (and lots of patience & lube!). I found that I had to focus on relaxing and trying to enjoy it or otherwise I'd tense up, anticipating the pain, and that would make it worse.

Kellxx, hun we didn;t successfully dtd for 7 months after, and that was using loads and loads of KY, loads of foreplay, and lots of attempts before I completely relaxed. It will get better the more you attempt it though.

Thanks so much for your replies... just wanted to make sure what i was feeling was somewhat normal as my episiotomy recovery was hell. If Jesse wasnt so grogeous i wouldnt be having any more children!

Will just take it slow.. we purchased our first tube of lube yesterday so will give it a go
