    Follicles on ovaries post-partum

Do follicles normally appear on a woman's ovaries shortly after giving birth (7 weeks PP in this case) WITHOUT it indicating a cycle returning? A had a pelvic ultrasound to diagnose RPOC at 7 weeks PP and it was noted that I had a high number of follicles on my left ovary. That was 20 days ago. I had been bleeding on and off light/medium with the RPOC, but then it stopped for 4-5 days and I thought it was finally over. Yesterday I started bleeding at a medium/heavy flow. I have light cramps, and looking back over the last week, have been more emotional, craving sweets and chocolate, more tired. So is it possible to have many follicles on an ovary after childbirth without it meaning imminent ovulation? I'm so confused as to whether this is AF, or if it's just a continuation of my PP bleeding and perhaps I haven't passed all the product. Either way I'm back to the GP next week because at 10 weeks post partum I'm sick of bleeding.

I hope you're taking some good supplements. Floravital is a liquid iron and multivitamin and it's really awesome and easily metabolised.

Yep that's what I'm on. But I'm starting to get lightheaded and dizzy so I think I need more. Like I said, GP soon. I'm over it either way, pp bleeding or AF.

You have pcos don't you? Numerous cysts/follies are normal in pcos -all the time. I've never had a scan without that finding, no matter where I was with cycle

Hope you get some answers soon. It might be worth asking o have your iron levels checked when you see the gp...

I apparently have PCO but not the syndrome, so yeah. Ok that's good to know. And yes I'll definitely ask for a iron check, my levels were good in pregnancy because I was on supps (I'm anaemic) but they might be tanked again now with all the blood loss.
