    girly bits broken

I had my first child 9 weeks ago. I had a vaginal birth with a long 2nd stage and tore upwards (no stitches required). I have noticed that now, 9weeks on my clitoris seems to be broken. I have lost most of the sensitivity in it, orgasm is no where near as pleasurable there is no proper build up or release but I can still feel the muscles contracting/ spasming iykwm
Just wondering if anyone else has or had this problem and did it improve? Did you do anything to help it improve? I have mentioned it to my gp, a MACH nurse and a womens health physio and they all agreed it is unusual yet have no real advice other than may be time will heal it.

Wow. I'm feeling very lucky, but also a little bit less unique.

I also tore forwards - straight through the clitoris, but I needed to be stitched up. I haven't noticed any change in sensation, but we waited a lot longer than 9 weeks before resuming intercourse. Hopefully things will right themselves in time. Good luck!

You are the only other person apart from myself that I have heard of tearing forwards like that.

I didn't tear that way but I did get quite a few stitches. It felt really weird down there for ages, and for a few weeks I couldn't even feel the sensation to wee! It should get better with time, 9 weeks isn't that long so I would be allowing your body some more time to heal, it sounds like a fairly traumatic tear so it may take a while to repair itself properly (even though it may appear healed from the outside).

i think we first started DTD at about 6 weeks (I was a bit reluctant to start so early!) and for another couple of months I couldn't feel anything much...it just took a bit of time for the sensation to come back. Do lots of pelvic floor exercises, that helped me although I didn't do them as much or as regularly as I should have! If you are still concerned have a chat to your OB/GP.

ETA: I couldn't orgasm properly for a long time, probably about 5 or 6 months after DD was born, I could almost get to that point but just couldn't push myself over the edge iykwim. With time and practise it did get better

Id say at 9 weeks post partum you still have a bit of recovery to go. I rekon it takes about 6 mths at least to feel normal after a vaginal birth with some tearing.
I hope it gets better for you!

    Thanks everyone for the replies.
I know it's still early days but most womens clitoris's don't just stop working after birth do they? I may as well rub my elbow lol ..
How long has it taken most people to have a normal orgasm after birth? first time? 6 months?
