Having a baby

I wanted to know how long you "Have" to wait to ttc again after having a c-section?
I really want to have # 7 close wit Phoenix but that would mean I would want to start ttc in next few months, but I a had a c-section only 5 months ago. I really dnt want to leave it 2 years as that is not the plan I wanted with my last two children.

I had a c-section with Ashlen my fifth child because he was breech and I had a large dermoid cyst removed during the c-section as well, then with phoenix they did a c-section again because he was fully breech as well, worst experinece ever pheenys birth was, but that another story. So this would be a 3rd c-section I guess unless they let me have a vbac but I highly doubt it now. Natural birth beats a c-section any day!!!


So I am asking what you think, does it mean I would lose the baby if I was to get pregnant in like six months time? Or that my own life could be in danger?

Not sure. There is some evidence to suggest that you should wait a certain amount of time, but I know of women who have fallen pg again quite quickly after having a baby via c/s and it's done them no harm. It could be a case of it being an individual thing kwim?

thats what I thought too. its not like i am going to go run marathons anyway . sorry typing with one hand here as its boob time here!

We fell pregnant when our DS was 11 months old. He was born via an emergency CS and I have had no problems at with this pregnancy. I'm not sure how long you "should" wait, maybe ask your OB for some advice?

Hi Soul,
I've looked into this too. I was told by the registrars in hospital to wait a minimum of 6-12 months before ttc, because I've had 2 c/secs (like you), to make sure the scar is well & truly healed. Another OB told me, off the record so to speak, that as long as it was at least 3 months no one would be too worried. HTH.
