Help - What on earth is going on with my body?

OK, Angus is nearly 8 weeks old and my lochia only stopped pretty much on 6 weeks.

About a week ago I started spotting and every second day or so it gets heavier as if a period is coming, and then there is nothing really except CM tinged with blood ( sorry for the tmi)

I am fully breastfeeding, still 6 times a day most days, so it is not like I have cut down on feeds to bring on my period.

Yesterday and today I have also been feeling really nauseous and churning in the tummy which I am assuming is just a tummy bug along with a massive headache.

Before anyone asks - no I am not pregnant, you have to have sex for that!!! lol I have 3 kids and sex is very low on the list of prioritites!!!

OK I am just bumping this up to see if anyone has any ideas.

I am still spotting, so out of the 8 weeks since Angus has been born I have only had one week with no bleeding/spotting at all.

It is only enough that I need a liner, but enough to be annoying iykwim.

    Hey Relle

you may have a bit of membrane or placenta left in you uterus...the contracting of your uterus causes this discomfort as it is trying to get rid of the contents.

Your bleeding also indicates that there are still some bits of the afterbirth

if your blood loss has an offensive odour, or you are feeling rather average i would suggest you pop in the see your DR sooner rather than later for a check and maybe some antibiotics

    hope this helps

    Relle,

I cant help as my lochia has stopped within first 10-12 days with all my bubba's!?
I am feeding Zyon atleast 8-10 times a day (he is a piggy!)

I had issues at 5-6 weeks with the same sort of thing, I wound up going to the hospital because I felt like someone had hit me over the head with a large pilon... they put me on megadoses of ab's because they were concerned about retained placenta, I had an u/s 4 days later which showed everything was okay. In the meantime, on day 2 I passed very large clots etc....

    thanks girls.

There is no odour and the cramping tummy has gone and the headache, if it doesn't stop in another day or two I will go to my Gp.

Even if this is a light period, it has gone on for over a week!
