I think it was day 5 or 6 for me. I didn't feel the need until then, but a home visiting midwife gave me some fybrogel to soften and speed things up a bit. If you're worried about pushing, fold some loo paper over your hand and use your hand to gently apply some counter pressure. Also, if you use coloxyl or fybrogel or anything, make sure you drink loads of water, especially since you are breastfeeding. I didn't drink enough and ended up badly dehydrated the next day.

But they were both VB's with DS1 I had some grazing and I had nothing with DS2, fairly easy births (pity I can't say that about the labours
