i gave birth 4 weeks ago and have since noticed that i am having trouble with urine leakage. i have been using pads for the bleeding but as the blood died off i noticed that i still need them due to leaking urine! it is gross! it doesnt happen noticebly when sneezing, coughing, laughing etc, but i can feel it leaking out when i have just finished doing a wee in the toilet and then standing up, also when sitting down or moving positions. i have been doing my pelvic floor exercises, (not every day) and can hold for 10 seconds, i can also stop flow of urine when using bathrooom, so i dont think my pelvic floor muscles are that weak. i dont know, does anyone have any advice?
Seeing your baby is only four weeks old, it's not an unusual thing to be happening. However so it doesn't continue and become a long-term issue, I would contact the hospital where you had your baby and speak to their physio department. They will be able to assist you with exercise and strengthening your muscles (although they do sound pretty good). Don't leave it til your six week check!
