Bright red blood - how long after birth is "normal"

Hi all, coming up to 2 weeks since my darlin Miss Elisabeth was born, and I'm *still* bleeding bright red. My loss seems to peter out completely then all of a sudden I get a really big bloody loss after a feed. I've mentioned this to the midwives a few times, they keep saying it's ok as long as there aren't large clots...does that sound right or should i get it checked out?

I've also had a superficial CS wound infection and am on heavy-guns ABs, it is likely that this loss is related to the infection?

Congratualations on the birth of Elizabeth!! Not sure if I posted elsewhere
Not sure if its linked to the infection, but after my c/s I bled for 6-7 weeks on and off. It wasnt always heavy, but often it was bright red. It could be heavier after a feed, as breastfeeding does help the uterus contract and help it reduce back to its normal size so that could be the reason. I would tend to agree that if you arent clotting that its fine and normal, although if you are still really stressing about it, make an appointment with your GP, and they can check your wound too. I wouldnt think it would be related but then I could be completely wrong.(Big help I am!)
    Good luck!
