    Iron levels after c-sect

I just wanted to share what happened to me and has turned my life around. I had my bub 6 months ago a elective ceaser. I had a large volume loss and had my iron levels tested when in hospital (as I was white almost grey after surgery) they came back normal.
I started to feel flat and teary a couple of weeks ago ..I thought I had PND, really tired. I mentioned it to my doctor who did a repeat test and it came back below the normal range. I mentioned this to a few friends that mentioned that there obst put them on iron tablets after discharge from hospital. Hmm bad side to it constipation.

I was put on iron tablets after my c-section as I was a little anaemic, although I didn't actually lose much blood when I had the operation. The iron tablets picked me up a bit. Another thing they sometimes check with tiredness/depression symptoms is thyroid functioning - I was once prescribed tablets for that too and they perked up my energy levels.

I was also put on iron tablets and vitamin C tablets to help me after my c/section.

bec i had the same sort of thing, although i couldn't walk to the kitchen when i got home without feeling breathless, (i left hospital after my c section on day 2) i went back to the hospital as i had pain on breathing and they said i had air under my diaphragm and severe aneamia. i ended up having a blood transfusion (3 units of blood) as it was so low - best thing i could have done i felt back to normal after a couple of days.
