    Lochia for how long?

Just wondering how long I'll be wearing pads for?!!
Does the amount of lochia depend on your placenta's exit? Mine was apparantly a bit ragged and I'm still getting clottish kinda things...at least I think they're what you'd called clots....it's not like a normal period is what I mean. Usually brown and stringy but the other day it was red. Does this sound normal?

Not sure about the placenta issue but it's definitely normal to still be bleeding two weeks after the birth

With my first I bled for about two weeks, with my second I bled for a month (the last two weeks was very light though, and the last week was on and off).

Some people bleed for six weeks or longer.

6 weeks for me although the last week or 2 was more like spotting. There were a couple of days when I didn't have any bleeding at all but then it started up again. I think little stringy bits or small tissue like bits are normal.

If you are concerned or are passing large clots then best get it checked out. Or you could call the maternity ward where you gave birth, just for some reassurance.

Same as Angel for me, 6 weeks but the last two were more like spotting.

Ashton is 4wks old today and I am now just spotting after his birth, and am back to wearing panty liners instead of actual pads.

With my first I bled for like 11 weeks!!, My second was about 9 weeks.
This time round I thought things would ease off pretty fast but I don't think that it will now. I actually beginning to think I am doing to much.
