    New Moles after birth?

    Hello Lovelies,

My DH was giving me a back rub last night and noticed I have a few NEW moles that have come up on my back since I had DD. Of course I am off to get them checked out but am just wondering if anyone else has had new moles come up during or after being PG?

    TIA

    Hi there,

This happened to me. I've got quite fair skin (brown hair, blue eyes, freckles etc - Not sure if that makes any difference). I was told by my GP that this wasn't uncommon but it's always worth getting these things checked out. I also developed a wierd spot like thing on my leg; it turned out to be a 'harmless tumor'. It's tiny and is just a red little bump but totally, totally harmless. No one can really notice it but me. But can happen if you get a scratch or bite and your body goes into overdrive to heal it; creating more skin tissue than necessary and can happen more often in pregnancy. (well this is what I was told by my gp).

It's amazing the effect pregnancy has on your body though....!

My body doesn't have moles but I definately noticed that my melanin (skin pigment) was darker during and after all my pregnancies. I've got a patch on my forehead that's gradually fading. My skin is average, on the fair side. I've noticed a few tiny red dots that have faded into what look like new 'freckles' on my legs though... but they might be capillaries.

I had pale mole-type things on my chest and they all darkened during my pregnancy so now I've got spotty boobs
There are heaps of them. Doesn't feel very attractive...

Yes I had new moles, skin tags and some beautiful looking warty things which fell off once William was born. Definitely get them checked out though if you are worried. It's probably not a bad idea to get a doctor to look at your moles each year by way of comparison, just as a bit of a health check.
