TD, you say it costs $10k, do you get a refund from your private health fund?

Also, does your dr put the implants under or on top of the breast muscle?

    TIA.

My Mum had them done about 23yrs ago. As far as I know she hasn't had any maintenance done?

What do they do to 'maintain' them?

I remember when I found out she had them done. I was about 17 and devastated, as I thought mine might eventually be her size!

I'm thinking about getting them done when I reach 40. Mine are on the small side, but not too saggy yet. I'm a C cup, but not a nice full one! I'd actually like some lipo on my neck first. A hereditary double chin happening here!

they go under the breast muscle. does not affect bf in any way, so you can still bf.

PHI does not cover them unless they are medically required. Mine are for cosmetic purposes, so i can't claim. They are considered medically required only if you have had some form of breast trauma. PHI does not even cover the hospital side of it.

From memory, i think you can get back some of the anaethesis costs from medicare.

My tummy tuck is medically required so the dr. says so that will be about $5k

I went from not even a AA to a large B to a small C.... I LOVE them I had after DD1 but before DD2 BF DD2 for 4mths ( same amount of time as with them )so all is good there..

I have round implants under skin but NOT under muscle, I got 450 cc as I was soooooo very FLAT, my implats are saline so were put in with a small cut under the nipple around the pink bit ( sorry dont know the correct name) so cant see a scar at all, as they go in flat and fill them up once they are in...

I will have to look for a picture of my in my swimmer and up load it for you to have a look

TD that sounds like my old (.Y.) it was a very said sight indeed...

Tali, did the dr tell you how much he thought you had in your boobies? I want to get 450ml, but DH won't let me.

thanks Tali. I'm just trying to vision it If you had nothing and had 450mls implants and went to a big B-small C, then my 420mls with the already 200mls, = 620mls, so that should even be a small D. OMG. That is great. But i'm still gonna push for 450mls. If the dr agrees, that's another story.

I hear you about how the dr's approach your boobies at the consult. Mine was very anxious about touching them at all. He just lifted them slightly and said "my, you do have some sagginess", and i thought "no sh*t, really?" They are very subtle about the subject aren't they

Cougs - i think boobies = womanly. I had to argue with my DH in getting them. I told them if tranny's can get them, then i am entitled to them as i am a female. I also argued the point to him that YOUR kids made my boobies this damn ugly. They were small, yes, but were perky at least. You have to let me know how your appt goes.

    49 days to go

I had mine done nearly 6 years ago.

    Well worth every cent!

Cost me about $9,000 at the time. The surgeon I went to based the type of implants on your body type and he also gave 3 sizes of recommendations to try in your bra to get rough idea of what you'd like. Personal I'd recommend going for the biggest cause pretty much anyone I know thats had it done has and even then alot say they'd like to be bigger.

I stayed one night in hospital, had drains in both breasts overnight. Pain wise wasn't overally bad cause alot meds make me nasueted I pretty much just took panadol and an anti-inflamotry drug. Pain was mainly an ache when I'd get up in the morn, very hard to do to til you get used to them. Also you have to sleep elevated so that makes a good night sleep very hard.

If I had $$$ I would so get more stuff done, join you girls on flatter tummy, maybe suck bit out my ass and thighs.

Oh and you can claim on your tax return under medical expenses part, not sure what the threshold is now but anything after that you can claim 20% back.

    Hey Shel,

so i guess you had silicone implants, if you had the drains in them.

What size were you and what did you become? Which plastic surgeon did you see?

Personal I'd recommend going for the biggest cause pretty much anyone I know thats had it done has and even then alot say they'd like to be bigger.
That is what i'm scared of. Getting them done and then thinking "sh*t, i should've had them bigger"
