I'll have to check that out, thanks ladies. The domiciliary nurse came today and put the fear of God into me - "it might be a blood clot"She's recommended I go back to the hosp tomorrow for an ultrasound!

it might be a blood clot, hard to tell without seeing it but it does sound more like a varicose vein. Wouldn't hurt to get the ultrasound just to rule out anything sinister and when that's all clear the haemorrhoid cream will most likely work well, as will ice and keeping your weight off the leg. Sounds nasty though, you poor thing
