Prolonged Period Question

I started bleeding on the 11'th. First few days was a dirty browny colour but enough to fill a pad per day. THen started heavier clotty bleeding which is still going on. It is annoying me to no end. My period was due on the 27th of last month so it was late. Has anyone experienced this? It is a strange period as normally i have several floodings day 2 and 3 (sorry for the tmi) but not this time. I am a little worried. 8-[

I'd go to the Doctor to discuss that Kayla, just to be on the safe side. Have you had normal periods prior to this? Is there a possibility that you may have been PG at all??

well when i put in the conception calender the date of last period the date it gave me for conception date is the night we went unprotected ifkwim so possible.

Went to the doctors and he couldnt of cared less. Shooed me away with a pill primolut n and that was it. Read the warnings and 4 of them are applicable to me so I cant take them. It is doin my head in now. Day 18 and no signs of it going away. I just wanna cry.

Maybe go to another doctor Kayla for a second opinion? Or you could try the hospital. Hope it is resolved soon.

That's terrible Kayla!!! If I were you, I would definitely seek another opinion. It doesn't sound normal for you to be bleeding for that long (I don't want to frighten you, but it's best to get it looked into). If you have the strength, I would make a complaint about that Doctor - he seems to have been very insensitive as well as negligent in his care of you!

I hope that you are able to see another Doctor asap so that you can get some answers.

Aww Kayla that's terrible, how rude of that Dr to do that to you.

I agree with Mel, maybe try someone else & make a complaint about that rude Dr.

Well I decided to go to emergancy yesterday after the bleeding got heavier. It was as useful as the doctor visit. They took a blood test made me sit in a bed for 4 hours and sent me home with no more information than i went there with. The blood test was ok apparently whatever ok is meant to be. Day 22 today and i feel like a FREAK. :smt022

Oh Kayla. That's just terrible. I really don't think it's right that you've been bleeding for as long as you have. I can't believe the hospital didn't give you any indication of why this could be happening.

Just as another thought - do you have a CHN that you visit at all? They could be another port of call for you if you're having no luck with talking to Doctors!!

I can't believe what a rough trot you're having with these medical professionals (and I use the term "professionals" loosely in this case!)

Hun, that's so not right, but if it helps I've bleed for 50 days at a time when I had AF. But try another either your OB or another emergency department.xx Good luck and let us know how you go hun.

hi girls.
sorry for not coming back i am just an emotional physical wreck. I am still bleeding. What the hell is wrong with me. Had the ultrasound went for the results and was told the idiot did a crap scan. Was sent to the womens hospital where they did tests and I am having an ultrasound friday. and will get the results all at once.

I want to know will it ever stop? Will I ever get a sex life back? Why cant anyone tell me this at the hospital??????

Oh geez Kayla I can't believe you still don't have any answers. That much blood loss can't possibly be good for anyone. Hopefully Friday will reveal some answers for you.....
