Ok... now my DS is nearly 6 months old and I had a vaginal birth but the ventousse(sp?) was used to help Oscar out.
Now here is my problem.... when I go to the toilet to do #2s it can be quite painful. It feels like I have a tear down there... I asked my Dr about it and he said that the ventousse can leave you quite cut up with a lot of grazes and tears etc and said that is most likely it and to eat a lot of fruit & veg and drink lots of water to make it "soft".
I'm just wondering if anyone else had had this problem and if so, how long did it take for it to improve?!?
Hi Oshani, Did you have stitches ? I know that I had 2nd degree tears with all my 3 births and I was quite tender for months after the birth but to do a #2 didn't cause that much pain, more so DTD.
I knew there was something I left out of my post!! Yes... I did have stitches!! I had an episiotomy but they cut outwards not through to my butt iykwim?
Hi Dani. It can take a while for your body to get baack to normal after having a baby. I got the most terrible case of haemorroids giving birth to Livvy and I still can't get rid of them. If you are really concerned and it is still hurting getting a check might be worth while, even if it is for your sanity. Did you extend your episiotomy towards your bottom or did you suffer a 3rd or 4th degree tear?
I haven't had hemorrhoids before but could that be an issue, is the pain on the inside passage or down near your perenium(sp)? I would go and ask the dr. to have a look, not much fun I know but it may be worth it.
I had ventouse with chelsea..but wasnt cut....jsut ended up with stitches and 2nd degree tear....unfortunatley i healed within 2 weeks and next to no pain anywhere.
I had a similar problem after DS was born. It has cleared up now, but #2's hurt and there was a fair bit of blood each time too. Have a look at anal fissures and see if the symptoms match. Apparently very common after child birth.
Hi Oshani,
I had venteuse delivery 2 months ago, with an episiotomy/stitches. I've been having the same problem & mentioned it at my 6 week check - the Dr looked at all my bits & confirmed anal fissures were the cause of my 'discomfort'.
She advised taking metamucil and also wrote down the name of a cream you can get at the chemist but I don't have the piece of paper with me ATM & can't remember what it was... I will let you know when I get home on Sunday if that's OK?
