Sammy - I have been wondering the very same thing. I'm not sure exactly how much weight I put on with this last pregnancy but it was too much as I shouldn't really have gained any! My problem is that I've had a c/s and even walking around the shops for a couple of hours makes me achey so I don't think I'm going to be able to walk at a fast pace for long enough to lose weight for a while. I'm feeling really gross and flabby - especially with the lovely c/s over-hang on my tummy so I'd love to get started but I don't think it would be wise yet. And I don't know that I have the energy yet either!

I agree with shell that you should just do what you feel you can manage to start with. Maybe give it a try at 8 weeks and see how you go. If it all gets too hard then try again at 12 weeks. And I wouldn't focus too much on the weight-loss for the first couple of weeks - just sticking to an eating plan and exercising with an 8 weeks old and a toddler will be a massive achievement Although some time out for you to go to the gym will probably be really nice.

I think I'm going to have to start off by watching what I'm eating first - at the moment I'm grabbing whatever I can as DS likes to be awake all day (bring on my close carrier I've ordered!) and it's not usually very healthy. I packed on the weight after DD so I'm really conscious of not doing that again.

Shell - breast-feeding doesn't always help with weight-loss. It didn't work for me last time. Damn it
