    Question Silver Nitrate Scar

    Hi Guys,

Just wondering if any of you gals that had silver nitrate applied after epi or proud tissue removal have a scar that looks like a lump and is tender? I had my proud tissue removed about 3 1/2 months ago and I noticed some tenderness during sex about a month ago. I 'inspected' down there (as all us ladies LOVE to do!!!!) and found a small lump that is tender to touch and I can't remember if it was where they applied silver nitrate....

Hopefully one or more of you can help.......

    Hi Bec,

I had the silver nitrate applied only on monday and i think there will be a little scar left from it afterwards. The OB actually had to physically remove my skin tag as it was too big for the silver nitrate to completely work. Did the nitrate completely remove your skin tag or could the lump you mean still be some proud tissue? Perhaps they didnt get it all? I say if youre still tender then maybe you should go back and see you OB just to make sure?

Thanx for your reply kellxx! I had some proud tissue present and my ob gave me a local then cut it off and the sealed it with the silver nitrate. Maybe he didn't get it all but i've only just started getting sore again some 3 and a half months later so it's very strange. I can't even remember which side it was, but am guessing it's where the lump is now......the stinging sensation feels the same as the proud tissue so maybe you're right.....

Thats not good Bec. I know the feeling you poor thing. My ob had to cut it off too but i didnt have a local and it hurt like hell! Hopefully thats all it is and it is easy fixed, but a pain that you have to go back. Maybe try a few salt baths, might ease it a little?
