Question Spotting with AF! Is this normal?

    Hi All,

After a long break postpartum and after breastfeeding, AF has returned regularly now for a few cycles. I am usually 32 to 35 days (well, this cycle was 30 days, so a little shorter!).

AF is slow to start and slow to finish and it is has been this way since AF returned. Day one spotting usually only lasts a few hours then AF starts properly, with CD2 being the heaviest flow, but at the end of AF I am getting 2 days of just spotting. It is annoying!

This cycle I have been spotting for over 3 days now!!!! After having proper AF for 4 days!

    Does this mean anything?

Is it anything to do with having caesars?

What could the spotting be? I am only spotting around my period, not at any other time of my cycle.

I am just a little concerned because we are TTC again and had problems concieving #2 and just hoping that nothing is really wrong!!!

    Thanks

I am guessing that this is NOT a normal postpartum, AF-returning-type problem as I haven't had a response.

After 5 days of spotting, it has finally stopped (so a nine day AF all up!). Something is a little wrong me thinks!

I think it may have happened after one of my last two (can't remember which one). I don't think it was AF... I think, from memory, AF came a couple of weeks later.

I wouldn't worry too much about it, it can take a while for our bodies to get back to some normality after a baby.

Sorry I really can't help much more.

    Thanks Tanya,

After writing that it had stopped, I got a little bit more. Just a bit frustrating. I am going to the Dr tomorrow just to get it checked!

It's probably just low progesterone... but let us know how you go, ok? Good luck

    Thanks Tanya,

Saw the Dr. Apparently spotting after AF is not a sign of anything, it is just a nuisance. It cannot be treated.

I was told that if I was spotting before AF it could be a sign of endometriosis.

Nevertheless, I have been given a slip for an ultrasound if it happens again in the next couple of cycles - just to check - but it is unlikely that anything is wrong.

Oh, good to hear all is most likely to be fine.
