Hi everyone, I'm onto my second cycle since giving birth 3 month ago and I'm finding it very difficult to insert tampons. I'd only started using them about 12 months before I fell pregnant but now it seems they arenn't going in properly and are falling down. They aren't full so I don't understand whether things have changed in this area since birth (I had 4th degree tearing). Has anyone else had a similar experience? Should I be worried/see a doctor or just push on?
thanks, laura
I have noticed a similar thing as well, like it just doesn't stay where it is supposed to anymore, although I do think that I have a reasonably good pelvic floor, I just think it is still 'bigger' than what it should be, which may not be the case at all, but I just persevere with it, as they still do the job they are meant to. If you are worried about it, by all means see your GP.
I honestly havent been able to deal with tampons since having kids... I know Maddy is 8 yrs old.... But my period was always max 3 days from mediumflow day1-2 & then spotting for a day... so it wasnt a prob...
Yeah, good topic Pelaja. I find they don't quite sit the same some days. No matter how I try they don't feel right. I'm sure Blake 'changed' me. I think it's just part of the journey of womanhood. Perhaps lots of pelvic floor exercises can help? *mental note to do them more myself!*
thanks everyone. Good to know I'm not alone. Do you think the size of the tampon is a factor? I'm using mini ones at the moment and they kind of hurt coming out so I don't see how a bigger size would be better.
AHHH i never even thought of this!! had a little spotting today and went and brought some tampons just incase! DD is 5months and i am still pretty sore down there, plus my internal stitches haven't healed yet! i guess i will see how it goes.
Tampons were instrumental for breaking down the scar tissue from my stitches!!! If it hurts, good Its helping!!
I had troubles with them flow wise, but had to use them for swimming and netball.
Now I'm a happy cloth pad user, but will still use tampons were I need to.
I promise you that using tampons made the scar tissue break down and made DTD almost the same as it had been.
Yes it really hurts the first few times (2-3 cycles??), but think of childbirth and its no comparison
Yes i dont use tampons now either.I only use a mini if at the end of a cycle and need to go swimming or out.Good topic! Glad im not the only one. DTD now after childbirth i need ky jelly to help.I found after 12months my body went back to normal.I think the hormones make you drier down their?
Hi,
I'm having the same problem. I've been reading about it (problems with getting a tampon to sit right) and apparently it's one of the symptoms of vaginal prolapse. I think pelvic floor exercises are the only answer.
