wedding ring still not fitting after pregnancy/birth

i had really swollen hands when i was pregnant and couldn't wear my rings from around 16 weeks. Since the birth, i have lost pretty much all of my swelling but i still cant get my rings over my knuckle. Anybody else had this problem? Will it improve or do i need to resize my rings?

My hands didn't swell a great deal, but even now my engagement ring is still tight to get on. Same with my watch, I've had to go up to the next hole on the band because it was so tight on my wrist!

I would give it a little while before you decide to resize.
Sorry if this is a personal/rude question..did you put on extra weight other than baby during pregnancy? If so, this may take a little time to come off.
I also had a friend who had swelling in her joints during pregnancy, so this could also be it and may take a little time to settle down.
I was able to put my rings back on comfortably around the 2mth mark.
Our bodies do funny things during pregnancy, it sometimes just takes time to get back to where we want to it to be if it get's there at all

I'm having a similar problem- and my DS2 is almost 4 months old. Although i can actually now get it on my finger along with my eternity and engagement rings- but all 3 together i'm finding are irritating my finger (cause i think they are a fraction to tight still) so i've now had to wear them on my right hand. I'm hoping it improves soon as it feels strange wearing them on the wrong finger (well it does for me).

So maybe give it another month or 2- as it was only a few weeks ago i was to actually able to get them on finger.

I wasn't able to get my rings on til about 3 and a 1/2 months after DDs birth. I was constantly trying, and like you, couldn't get them over my knuckles. Finally one day I got them on, but then really struggled to get them off! So give it a bit of time hun until you decide to do anything x

wedding ring still not fitting after pregnancy/birth

It took nearly 8 months for my riings to fit back on this time. And I weighed less and put on less weight this time than last time ( last time I never had to take them off) it just depends.

I hope they fit again soon.

Thanks, it's nice to know i'm not the only one. Looks like i might wait a few more months before deciding what to do.

I thought for sure I was going to have to get my engagement ring resized but I think a bit over a year ago I was able to put my ring back on. Maybe when she was about 8ish months. I think once I lost the extra baby weight I was right I lost the weight quite slowly, so it may happen quicker for others

When preg with DS1 I had to take rings off at about 16 weeks. When he was 12 weeks old I actually got my rings re sized. I didn't need to take them off when preg with DS2, and now they are able to spin around on there own but not fall off.

After i had DS (nearly 12 months ago), my engagement ring never fit me....i stopped wearing it, but when baby was 5 months old, i went and got it re-sized...it fits great now. I read somewhere that pregnancy/kids does make your hands bigger ?? Dunno the truth in that...but i got 4 sizes up (which is a lot), cost me $80 just for re-sizing..i was worried my fingers would 'go back to normal', but like i said, 12 months on, and it still fits fine....

It took a good 6 months for me to get my rings back on after having bub I think your hands do the same thing as your feet (did you notice you had to go up a size in shoes?), the pregnancy hormones make all your ligaments etc stretch and therefore your feet (and I assume hands) spread and get a bit 'fat' during and after pregnancy. It can take several months (I've heard up to a year) for your ligaments to snap back once the hormones go away, it may take longer if you're BFing, and unfortunately, for some people it never happens at all (a lot of ladies I know went up a shoe size or two thanks to their soft feet and years later, have never gone back down to their pre-baby shoe size). Give it a few months and see how you go, hopefully everything goes back to normal soon!

I also had to leave my rings off after about 4 months. I had terrible swelling and water retention (I put on close to 30kg while pregnant, a lot when you consider I started at 60kg), none of my shoes fitted and even bracelets were a struggle to put on from around 4 months. it wasn't until DS was about 3 months that I could get my rings back on, but it would've been 4 months before they were fitting again iykwim.

Having the same problem here!! I am still pregnant- i had to stop wearing mine almost right away as it was still hot when i got pregnant and i blamed the heat for adding to my swelling- however- now its fricken cold and i still cant get them on!! I can now only wear one of my rings- which usually fit on my middle finger- but i now wear on my wedding finger. After DS they did get a bit tighter- but i could still get away with wearing them- but i have feeling i will need to resize this time- i have a three ring set too like Bec7- so once they are a little tight- its just really uncomfy to wear all three. I seemed to put more weight on with DS after he started solids- though i am going to try a decent ecxercise and healthy diet this time to try and prevent that!! So i will see how i go!

Glamourcide... MY FEET DID GET BIGGER!!! I was convinced that shoes were just being made wrong!! lol They only got a little bigger- like i was size 8 comfortable fit and now size 8 is a tad snug- but size 9 is still a bit too loose!! And i didnt really notice too much with shoes i amready had- just had to stop wearing thick socks with some!! :P That is really funny!!!

=) me thinking ahead I've avoided this problem, as DH and i have tattoo wedding rings. I always wanted to get ring tattooed as i dont 'believe' divorce (obviously it exsists, but i wont do it) but yea, another sneaky reason was so that my 'rings' would always fit no matter how much weight i gained (pg or not =P )

if you got them over your knuckle would they fit? or is your whole finger bigger not just your knuckle?

hope everything goes back to normal soon!!
