Question when AF returns after having baby?

**not sure where to post this.. mods feel free to move**

I breastfed DD til she was 4 and a half months old. i did bleed for 6 weeks after i had er, but it took a month and a half after stopping bfing for AF to come back.
When i got AF 3 days ago.. the cramps were about as bad asi remember them, but i had SUCH a heavy flow, even now 3 days later its still super heavy (not AS bad but heavier than what im used to) before, by now, AF would almost be gone, but looks like she's here for anotrher few days.
Is this normal? for it to be SO heavy first AF back? and will it always be this way? or will it go back to normal next month? or take a few months to get back to the way it was?
    TIA ladies
    xx

    Hey Stevie-anne

Very normal, I got jupped in that department exclusively BFing and still got AF after 14 weeks! My first 2/3 were heavier and longer but the 3rd or 4th was back to normal. As for the cramps, I NEVER had pain and then for those first 2 or 3 had shocking cramps.

I've had about 4 since DS was born and the first 3 were as light as they used to be, but the last one was so heavy I was a bit worried. It's never been like that for me ever, but I did a bit of a search of threads and it seemed to be pretty normal.
Really hoping it goes back to normal for me though....that was just not pleasant
