Af came back for me after about 5-6 weeks, but i couldn't breast feed if that helps :)
With 1st daughter, came back about 5mths (exclusive breastfeeding), with son, came back about 6mths(bfing too). Daughter no 2 is now almost 7 months old and still no period. (I started her later on solids though..nearer to 6mths, the others it was like 4-5 mths). But I am sure I was ovulating a couple of weeks ago..noticing CM and skin breaking out again.

I am 8 weeks after baby. Bottle feeding for 6 weeks. Still no little visitor and no cramps or signs!!
DS is almost 10 months. I've been off the minipill for over 3 weeks now and still no period (maybe i didn't even need the minipill if i'm not ovulating??)
Anyway, never thought i would say this, but i want my period back so i can get pregnant again.
I feed every 6 hrs or so, but sometimes more so i would have thought it would be back by now??
Yael
9 weeks... which was when he started sleeping through  you can't win that one, can you! haha!
I was one of the lucky ones  so my ob said! Mine returned before my 6 week checkup with both boys and I breastfed them both.
I got my first period after DS yesterday - 10.5 months after he was born.
He is still bf, goes around 10 hours overnight, but every 4-6 hrs during the day.
I think AF arrived last night! So that's 5 months, 3 weeks & 3 days.
Damn!
DS is exclusively BF too.
AF returned for me this morning after a month of cramps and of Charlie fussing on the boob last night! :crying: He's 9 month 2 weeks and a day old.
Oh well, it was a good run...
AF returned when Nixon was 5 months old. I was still bf but had recently dropped one feed.
I got mine back when I had to go for my six week check up - lucky me - I didn't get a break at all :(
Got mine back this week; 7 months to the day! Dropped 2 milk feeds from 6 months, i now feed morning and night. Wanting to try for baby number 2 now, am worried that miscarriage is common for first pregnancy after giving birth. Has anyone heard of this?
I've just started spotting a bit today.....so 5 months and 3 days after Caty was born. She was vomiting last week and her appetite dropped (she's fully BF) so I'm guessing that's what has bought on AF?? Dang AF!
Couldn't vote - 9 months post birth and still not here!!
With DD it as at 10.5 months had one AF and was preggers that cycle. With DS it was 12.5 months so a bit longer which was nice.

Hey, Got mine back 2 weeks after stopping BF but only had it 3 times b4 getting pg again. we will have a 16 month gap between bubs.
I got AF back last Friday. Cooper was 11 months, 2 weeks & 5 days old. So I did pretty well!
I'm still BFing too. He has 3 BFs per day.
got mine today, 9 months 1 week!! not happy!!
still having 4-5 feeds a day
Well i am almost 9 weeks pp with no AF yet.....
I got AF the month after having my dd.... i didnt BF tho
12 weeks after the birth of my DD AF arrived......earlier than I expected as DD was fully breastfed.
Still none for me....my DD is 9.5 months and on three breastfeeds a day...although we have been travelling a lot so she gets extra sometimes...
But want to be PG soe half thinking about weaning fully - maybe wait until 1 year then see. I am 35 so a bit anxious
2 days shy of 5 months for me. I stopped breastfeeding at 3.5 months.
3 weeks and 5 days after giving birth, and Im am breastfeeding!!!!!!!!
what a crock!
I got mine back today. Colby is just over 5 weeks and exclusively breastfeeding!!
I feel a bit ripped off! I did'nt think i would have to deal maxi pads so soon!
how unlucky can u be when u have already had a period reutrn so soon after giving birth... only to have another!!!!
I am on my last days of my second period since giving birth.... and he's only 6w3d old!!!!
RIPPED OFF BIG TIME!!
Well i just don't know now. I was bleeding like a period the other day now it has stopped. What's going on with my body!
boo to you!!! I have just finished my second bout of AF... bring on number 3!!!! lmao
10 weeks exactly. managed to catch her after only a bit of spotting so don't need to soak those undies! can I please re-vote? it won't let me vote coz I put in after Sarah's birth iykwim
i am fully breastfeeding and think af has returned today. is that possible??? i didn't expect it for months!!
OK, I now feel bad for fretting AF is still AWOL after almost 9 months! Sadly, yes, the first month isn't unheard of for a fully breastfed bub... just means you're more fertile and your body thinks you're more capable at being a mother than mine does!
Mine came back after 9 months. I wasn't surprised to see dear old AF - we were on holidays, so OF COURSE she'd come back to visit
I was devastated first time around as i felt as though my body had only just recovered completely from DD"s birth just to have AF return less than a week later! So imagine my utter delight when I got to 4 months exactly post birth the second time!! I did have 2 whole weeks of horrid tummy leading up to AF's return but hey! You can't have it all! LOL!!
:( AF is on her way..... I know over 12 months should be fantastic, but she's horrid!!! I feel like I'm having contractions today.... back pain everything in full force. I never had period pain in my belly always in my back, but sometimes bad enough to vomit before kids (maybe touch of endo?) and I would bleed for over a week heavily. After Matilda it was 4 months later & was mild now after Jovie I've been having bad cramps all day and she's yet to arrive but I know she's coming. Jovie still is breastfeeding 4-6 times a day so that has helped keep her away but :(
Well, I am relieved to hear from others who have had AF return so soon, even when breast feeding. I was starting to think something was wrong, but I'm pretty sure it's just my period returning. :( I had about 1 week of light bleeding post-partum, and then 4 weeks, or so, of occasional spotting, and now all of a sudden, moderate dark red bleeding, without clots or cramping, which started three days ago. Emily was 5 1/2 weeks old that day and is fully breast-fed. (8-10 times a day!) Guess I don't get a break. Although, I've never had a regular cycle, so maybe I'll get a nice long break until round 2. :)
I'm curious, though, about what Ryn said about being more fertile - I really don't think I am that fertile. We've been married for 6 1/2 years, and we've never used birth control or tried to prevent a pregnancy, and we have three children, all about two years apart. (4yrs old, 2 yrs old, and 6wks old.) Is that something that you've read/heard about Ryn, or just a guess as to why some women have a period sooner than others post-partum?
I too am pleased to hear that getting AF so soon after birth is not unheard of... I heard lots about not getting it back for months and months especially if breastfeeding. My lochia stopped at about 2 weeks and AF came on day 29 (my usual cycle) - Initially I thought it was lochia returning, but it was bright red and very heavy with bad cramps and back pain... Hopefully the cramps aren't an ongoing thing with AF, I never used to have them pre-pregnancy. I am breastfeeding and thought It was a sure thing not to get AF back for a year or so! :(
6 weeks after Jasmines birth Af returned...grrr :(
15 weeks after birth and I am exclusively breastfeeding. Second AF came 38 days after that so who knows when next one will be!!!!
