Yay - I have hemarroids (sp?)!! NOT

Well I have finally come the realisation that now 6 wks on and everything has healed nicely except for, sorry if tmi, but my anus still is lumpy. I do get a little bit of bright red blood when I have bowel motions as well.

I know this is pretty common for pregnant women, but before I rush off to see my GP & have to expose this, does anyone know of any ways I could try to get rid of them without having to show them to anyone??? I probably should have done this sooner, but I thought it was just some swelling due to giving birth.

I also dont have my follow up appt with my OB for another 2 weeks. Please let me know if you have any solutions to this embarrassing problem.

Aw *hugs * hun they arent nice are they? And dont be embarrased they are very common after birth, (or c/s in my case ) I used a cream called Rectinol (nice name ) that helped clear them up although mine were fairly minor. Go to your local chemist hun and see if they have something similar and hopefully it will help before you go to see your Dr!

oh they are horrible aren't they, i was all smug casue i didn't get them during pg or after birth, but they cuaght up with me 12 months later! I use Anusol i think it is the same as rectinol, it certainly helped ease the discomfort, i also found that the best cure for any hardish hurty poos was to eat heaps of dried apricots and drink heaps of water. thanks for hte suggestions, will be off to the chemist. Yes, the extra water helps (thank goodness). DH thought it was quite funny when I asked him to take a look to make sure. At least we can laugh about it though.

Thanks Kelly, I will print the article off & have a read when bubs is asleep.
