How soon after baby did you go onto contraception and what did you choose?

At my 6 week check I also got a script for the mini pill.

I went on the mini pill after DD2 but I was bleeding every day for a month so I stopped taking it and that is why we have DS2

We are using condoms until DH gets the snip. He was booked in a month ago but I got gastro the day he was meant to go and was too sick to get out of bed so it got postponed. We are vigilent with condoms

I don't know about anyone else because every one is different but as far as AF's return after a baby, mine has always been really obvious because it is like a post baby bleed all over again. After that first one they have been lighter but the first AF after a baby is pretty significant.

I wonder if you had some break through bleeding (caused by lots and lots of hormones) rather than AF. It probably doesn't give you any peace of mind but I thought I would mention it in case you were interested

Between boys nothing, currently condoms but need to decide on Mirena or something else.
DH wont have snip yet doesnt want more kids.

Yeah it totally could have been break through bleeding, although my PP bleeding became super light at two weeks and went completely at 4-5. I'm now almost 8 weeks PP. Who knows. Guess I'll just wait it out for now...thanks for the input ladies

We used condoms strictly for a few months and then became lazy and stopped using anything all together which is why we had a few pregnancy scares and why i fell pregnant. Now since losing our baby i am not at all keen to fall pregnant anytime soon so when i am recovered i am looking at the mirena or something else.

I tried the mini pill for a month and was over it. I didn't see the point putting chemicals into my body again when I knew we'd be trying for #2 when DD was around 18 months so we used condoms until then. Sure, they're not the most convenient or romantic option but it didn't bother either of us and the condom free sex when we started TTC #2 was excellent

ETA: I got the script for my mini pill at my 6 week checkup with my OB and started taking it about a month later. We hadn't had sex in that time, I was too scared even though I didn't tear! LOL!

I got the Mirena about 10 weeks after DD's birth (I only had a four week break after my post partum bleeding stopped and my cycle returned). But I won't get it after this bub, because it did mess with my cycle after it was removed (even though we aren't planning any more). I had it for four years, mostly hassle-free.

We used condoms after that, with some timing and nothing. But I'm not sure we'll be as relaxed after this bub!
