So I am obviously not desperately concerned about contraceptives at the moment.
BUT this is going to be our last child. And I haven't even properly glimpsed at what kind of contraceptives are out there since before I decided TTC #1 - over 6.5yrs ago.
DH and I have discussed surgical options, but although we are both certain that baby number 4 will be the last, neither of us are quite ready to look at the absolute finality of surgery yet. Both of us are still in our 20's - so if we go that route, it probably won't be for a few more years yet.
I would also prefer to avoid hormonal contraceptives if possible. Two reasons: 1) I have tended to gain weight whilst on them in the past (Pill, mini-pill, implannon) 2) I have also tended to loose my sex drive (and this has a big impact on my relationship, so neither of us wish to go down that route).
We have tended to rely on condoms between children, and will likely use these again initally (for the first year after bubs is born, whilst I am breastfeeding), but would definitely like something more permanant at some point.
But I am aware that by ruling out surgical options, and hormonal options, I have pretty much limited myself. So what contraceptives are there on the market which doesn't contain hormones????
