It was a while ago (8 years or so) and am not totally sure that it was the same thing as I don't really remember, but I kept suffering from post coital bleeding and then went and had a day procedure cauterizing. After that I never had any trouble. I never did anything to find out what caused it initially (I was on the pill at the time - in the UK one called Mercilon) - I had, had some abnormal PAP smears but nothing indicating anything sinister and so from what I recall the doc said that the cauterization might help there too, so I kept having more regular PAP smears (once a year) for a while after and they were all clear so then back on the 3 yearly cycle. I remember the bleeding being quite scary the first time it happened, but it wasn't happening for long as they booked me in for the cauterizing pretty much as soon as I saw the specialist (it was all pre-children and I had no midcycle bleeding so maybe easier to diagnose?)

Thanks for the reply Wsiwyg. Did you find the procedure painful and what type of anathestic do they use?

It was under a general anesthetic (was in the UK) and I didn't find it painful at all - worst bit was the fasting required for the general anesthetic.

Just back from an appointment with my ob and I am going to have the operation in July.

How many days were you off your feet for?

    Thanks for answering my questions

I would think just the one day off the feet, and prob gave it a week before DTD , but I can't really remember. Is funny am not sure if is because now live other side of the world but there seems to be alot of this type of thing I have difficulty remembering (e.g. at dentist today asking about previous dental work which would have been done around the same time).
