Shannon I am really sorry that wasnt the answer you were hoping for. Does your current Dr have anything else to suggest, are you going to get a new FS?

    Shannon:

Perhaps you should go straight to Sydney, and see G.Sacks in Sydney. You certainly need support, and to have no stone left unturned before ttc.

It's great you have found your original GP, so hopefully she will be happy to give you a referal. Have you had every blood test under the sun? Sperm antibodies, are yours and your hubbies sperm and eggs not agreeing? Have you had any of your miscarriages tested? Had an ultrasound of your uterus? I have read of some BB ladies flying up to Sydney to have a specific procedure done, then meeting the FS that afternoon to discuss the results.

Surely it would be unethical of the doctors to not test you. Ring the doctors association, AMA ?? and tell them your struggle to find a FS who will test you, without putting you in the "overweight" basket.

Im not sure if I am any help writing, but I wanted to let you know I feel for you, and hope 2009 brings you answers and a H & H pregnancy.

    Hi Shannan,

Glad to hear that the folate and B12 are ok - one less thing to worry about.

I understand that it is frustrating not to have an easy answer and to have to go through all the testing.

    Hang in there,

    Hi Shannon
I have PCOS and have had a similar journey to yours...I soooo feel for you hun! I was with Jay Natawala at Fertility North in Joondalup...love him to bits. Did every test under the sun for me and is backed up by an amazing team of nurses etc. I also did Cohen's and lost 20kg...was the best thing I ever did...I don't know that it is solely responsibile for me falling pregnant but mentally I felt like I was finally 'controlling' something that may affect my fertility...if that makes sense! Best wishes for a wonderful 2009

    Hi Shannon,

I'm truly sorry you have had to go through all of this but I have to admit I cannot believe that the Drs have just left it at "Its PCOS & go and lose some weight". As the girls have said there are definately other tests that can be done.

I have never had a pregnancy until now. I have had test after test after test. Nothing came up other than mild endo. However...I am now on clexane which has worked a treat (well my fs believes that this is the case). Clexane/aspirin is often used by specialists to treat DNA fragmentation (can come from either the father or mother) which can compromise the embryos and thus not enable them to stick or to simply die off once they have implanted. Clexane/aspirin can also hinder certain chemicals (sorry I can't think of another word) that may be in your uterus from attacking the embryo so that it is able to implant and continue to grow. So in summary specialists that I have come in to contact with use it if a person has never had a pregnancy or has had several miscarriages.

Best of luck sweetie & don't give up until you have had all the tests you need as the tests you have had are certainly not the only ones available (ie this is not the end of the road for you)!

    xxx
