I'm so sorry for your loss. And i'm so glad you found Bellybelly, though i wish the circumstances had been happier.
I had both my miscarriages naturally. To be honest, though it's a very individual thing, i'd probably go for a D&C if you're still waiting in a few days. Your body has had plenty opportunity to detect all isn't well and hasn't m/c's so far. That said, my first miscarriage was a blighted ovum and once the bleeding began things moved quite quickly.
I wish you luck and strength in the next few days and weeks. Keep talking, be gentle to yourself. Take care.
I continued to pass small clots for 10 days following the initial 12 week u/s. My obstetrician wasn't convinced that all of the uterine contents had been expelled, so I had another u/s to check (at an different, supportive, clinic). The u/s confirmed that the gestational sac was still fully intact and wasn't going anywhere on it's own. I therefore needed a d&c, which I had yesterday. I'm relieved that it's over. With hindsight, a d&c straight away would have prevented this situation from dragging on and on, in my case.
Thankyou all for your fabulous support. I'm not looking forward to going back to work and adjusting to ongoing working life with no bub to look forward to in 5 months, but knowing that I have your support will help to see me through.
