Thank you everyone for your replies. At 2.30 this morning I was still cramping, but the intensity of the cramping and the bleeding have both slowed down, so I guess I'm almost there. Yes they scanned me before discharging me on Wednesday, and I'm due in for another this Wednesday to make sure all is clear. Fingers crossed I won't have to have the D&C as well.
