Hi,
Just new to this. Felt I needed to talk to others who are (unfortunately) going through the same or similar situations.
A bit about my situation:
My hubby and I have been trying to start a family for almost three years. I have a very irregular cycle, going from 30 days to 36 days!
In July 2009 we conceived naturally though lost the bub at 7 weeks.
By Sep 2010 we had not conceived again so went to a specialist. He put us on Letrozole (Femara) which is similar to Clomid. We fell straight away.
At 7 weeks I had really bad cramping and had scans but all was fine. At 8 weeks I was really sick with the flu.
At 11 weeks I began to bleed and found out the baby had stopped growing and there was no heart beat. Had D&C
After 3 months we went back on the letrozole and did this 2 consecutive months with know luck.
Had a month off the letrozole as we waited to see the specialist again.
Went back to the specialist who suggested we try IUI in a couple of months.
Here is were I am at today and see if you can work it out!!
The month with no letrozole went as normal. Did a test on day 28 and it was negative. Started to bleed day 35 which is normal. Continued to bleed, though lightly for 12 days. Rang the specialist and they said do a test. It was POSITIVE! I spent yesterday having blood tests and a scan. The scan showed a sac at about a 4 week size. Waiting on the HCG levels from the blood test.
I don't know what to think or do, I am so confused!!!
Thanks Trish,
So do I! I forgot to mention that when I started bleeding I took the Letrozole again! This could be another issue as it is harmful to unborn babies!
We'll see
Things not going too well. Had bloods last Thursday which should a HcG level of 55 which is about four weeks and matches the scan.
Had another lot of bloods done yesterday and results back today, and the level was 58. So they have barely changed. So not looking good.
The Dr has asked I go back on Monday and have more blood tests and maybe another scan though I have come to realise that it is a no go this time.
ah lucy i am so sorry...make sure you use this site, its a great place to gain the support you will need. There are people here who understand long after people in real life move on. hugs
hugs lucy, keep believing, as miracles can happen. it did for me, and I hope it does for you. Arm yourself with knowledge about m/c and pursue testing. but in the meantime go gently and grieve your little one gone too soon.
Have you had repeated loss testing? There are a number of possible cause for repeated miscarriage. It can be just bad luck or it may be things like balanced translications, clotting or thyroid issues.
Huge hugs to you LL. Any loss is hard but repeated losses just rips your heart out & leaves you feeling hopeless.
I would totally recommend some recurrent m/c testing for you & your DP.
I have just been through it after 4 m/cs & we got some answers.
Hoping you get some also & go on to have a happy, healthy bub soon.
Lots of hugs to you xxxx
oh thats is ust awful like everyone has said the loss os hard enough but to have it repeatedly is horrible i cant imagine your pain you are a very strong person keep your head up your time will come .......
I'm so sorry about your recent loss and the previous ones too . I really hope that you get some answers soon and that you will be able to hold your little one in your arms very soon
