Thankyou all so very much for all of your messages. We have not told anyone IRL, so to get such tremendous support and sympathy from people on here is just... well amazing really. I slept better last night and I think it was partly because I did not have to stress over what was going to happen (it had already happened), and partly because it was a release to be able to write my little story and have it aknowledged by the world. I really appreciate the response from each and every one of you.
