Darlings!
How are we all? Lots of good vibes around the thread I hope!
Gem... Hanging out for Thursday! Fingers crossed super tight for you lovley  I will be waiting for your post-appointment post!
I took the retail therapy advice lol. 2 pairs of Jeans added to the collection, just need to find more trousers that I actually like. I'm too fussy for my own good.
Dory - Nose bleeds you poor bugger... Bizzare how the body reacts to pregnancy hormones hey. I hope they dont haunt you too much! 17 weeks, how WONDERFUL! I am so pleased for you. I hope each passing day brings you more calm & excitement ;)
Ahhh.... Gem & Dory.. Whats going on with the chocolate indulgence!?! I'm way behind the 8ball. There is bugger all in this house & I'm feeling a tad left out hahhahahahah! So, on my behalf... DIG IN! Lol
AFM - Nuchal scan yesterday was a complete success. Downs risk is super low. Measurements are all in sync with dates. Heartrate was 150. Sonographer was very pleased with everything he saw & we were just elated to see bubs again growing well. Little arms & legs wiggling (not quite as much as 10w4d scan) But even got to see the little one in 3D! Just amazing... Now I really, really feel like we have hit the ground running! And couldnt be happier :leap:
Will drop in again soon ladies, thinking of you all... All the time x
Dexy - that is super exciting. I am sooo happy for you. Did you keep looking at those beautiful images? I am just so so so happy and excited for you. When is your next appointment/scan?
I can't believe I am at 17 weeks.... amazing really.
Afternoon ladies, just thought I'd pop in and let you know what's been happening since I haven't been in here for a bit (I needed a bit of a break from pregnant people, no offecnce to you guys, but I know you'll understand where I'm coming from).
Anyway, 18DPO TODAY AND NO SIGN OF AF!!! We've made it one day further than last time.
Still not sure if I'm UTD yet or not, as it is also possible that I didn't O when I thought I did and O'd late this time, but everything is looking like I'm utd atm, super queazy, have thrown up twice, dry-retched more times than I care to count, peeing like there's no tomorrow, dull/sharp/achy/stinging pains in my left side near the ovary (I vaguely remember having them with DS on the same side too, they made us get an U/S early at 7wk6d to check for ectopic lol), tired, eating like a pig, BB's are firm and sore (Even more so than last month and with the chem in Jan)... But I've also had the flu (thankfully it seems to have gone now) and a mild throat and ear infection (antibiotics seem to be helping), so any of those symptoms could be from being sick.
As Dory will surely know from visiting the TTC after MC thread, I had a BFN with 2nd MU yesterday morning, and a super faint, almost invisible second line yesterday afternoon.
I'll be testing again tomorrow morning, figured I'd give the HCG another day to build up without me going crazy Testing all the time.
I'll let you all know what happens tomorrow!
Dory - Yay on making it to 17 weeks!
MrsDex - Yay on reaching 12 weeks!
Gemini - Welcome to the group darl!
Jenna
Oh oh I am hoping girl! Thanks for dropping in, no offence taken :) Thanks also for making it easy for me to understand. There is so much that goes on in those threads my head starts to spin a little.
I didn't realise you were 18DPO, but did remember you weren't feeling too good. I do hope when you test tomorrow you so get the 2 lines you are hoping for.
Hmm, not sure I can wait that long now, how are you doing with the wait?
Dory - I'm coping rather well. I have 2 FR tests sitting in the medicine cabinet, waiting quite patiently. I want to test, but I also know that the longer I wait the more likely it will be that I'll get a strong positive result. So far I'm staying strong lol
I'm really hoping that this is it, but I'm also so scared that have another mc, or that I'm not UTD at all and it's all just a figment of my imagination.
But, DS is super clingy at the moment, and he only seems to get this bad when I'm UTD (The Terrible 2's seem to have come early... temper tantrums every day! And he's not even 16 months old yet!).
I can't wait until tomorrow morning now lol I just hope that I don't end up waking up a couple of times in the early hours of the morning like I did this morning and yesterday morning lol
BFN and big temp drop this morning for me, it's looking like I O'd late this cycle.
Jenna - oh bugger. A BFN is crushing..... big hugs:comfort:
Good Evening Ladies,
Gee it's been busy in this thread, where have I been hiding lol
Dexy, so so happy to hear your scan went well.. with such low risk, and 3D... sounds great! I'm really happy for you and yours! I hope you got to keep some pics/dvd. I got a dvd made of Jayden at 13 weeks, I watched it over and over, its an exiting time.
I hear ya when it comes to clothes shopping, I hate it. I'm so fussy and normally end up walking out with nothing after shopping for hours lol You know, as silly as it sounds, I drove 4 hours one day to get to Country Target just to buy some pants. LOL However, I only spent about an hour in the store and bought about 10 pairs of pants. If only they had a country target in town lol
Jenna, I'm sorry I'm lacking knowledge of the shortening of words (I'm a little slow lol) but I wish you all the best. I hope you get the news you are waiting for soon. Thank you for your warm welcome.
Dory, we have permission to eat Dexy's share of chocolate !! Hope your doing well too.
AFM I had my appointment today and I'm happy to announce that we have the go ahead to try to conceive. There was nothing to indicate their was anything wrong with Jayden's development and all my test results were normal. It was one of those unfortunate 1%. Hoping for a sticky soon!! My doc says, "when you start to ovulate, your body is ready" They will monitor things closely with the next pregnancy and offer reassurance appointments/scans... I'm so happy!
Can someone give me a run down on the following;
DPO
UTD
BFN
I'm so thick LOL
Take care Ladies!
Good Evenin Gals!
Jenna - Lovely to see you drop in.. Wish to goodness it was better news lovley. Whats the plan of attack now? I have everything crossed for a BFP for you very very soon
Gemini - Spot on! The thread has indeed been busy! In such a short time too.
I did get some printed images of the ultrasound, the quality is fairly average thou. None the less I will get the chance to get a DVD at my 20 week scan, so I can deal with that nicley! 4 hours to a Country Traget!!! OMG! I thought I was out in the sticks love... Hehehe.Super pleased you got the go-ahead too. Thats great news... I will have everything crossed for you also. Big news soon hey! Where are you in your cycle? Meanings of abbr:
DPO - Day/s past ovulation
UTD - Up the duff
BFN - Big fat negative / BFP - Big fat positive
Have you girls eaten my share of chocolate yet??? I actually found a little red tulip bunny on the bottom shelf of our fridge!!! I bit its big ol' ears off with total pleasure! Lol.
Dorz - DH says hi. Very excited to hear too that you are 17 weeks.
How is that nose of yours? Behaving I hope. Howz about the kitty cats? Have you adjusted to spending time at home alright? It is a super big change from what you were used to
AFM - Had my hospital appointment today with a RMC doctor (gorgeous woman by the way! really lovely to deal with) She has arranged for me to be transfered to a 'normal' pregnancy clinic & I will receive the deails of my first midwife appointment / check up in the mail soon. More bloods taken, just to check vitamin d & things of the sort. 20 week scan booked & thats it...
What does everyone have planned for the weekend? I have to travel into the city tomorrow to sort out a problem job for work. Shattered because I really CBF! Lol! But at least it is Friday & the weekend is soooo close - That should get me thru. I just hope the problem job can be resolved, oh how i love cleaning up other people's mess!
Night Girls x
HI Ladies,
Dexy, great news about the pregnancy clinic, everything is going so well for you and your little one. A lovely addition to your signature too! Did u go ahead and let people know that bubs is on the way? Sorry if I missed this in a previous post. I think when the time comes for DH and I, we will likely tell family straight away. Their support through good or bad is great!
Tickers are another thing I can't work out LOL Thank you for those meanings, it all makes sense now LOL
I'm on day 16 of my cycle. Don't know about this month, maybe next, we'll see!
As for the weekend... soccer, soccer and more soccer. Got to be up and have DS at soccer at 8:30 sat and DD 8:30 sun morning... oh for a sleep in lol
P.S Hope the Crows win
P.P.S I worked out the CBF !!!
Take Care!
Morning ladies, couldn't resist stopping by and letting you know that I had a big temp rise this morning to 37, from 36.6 yesterday.
Still feeling super queasy, and still not sure what is going on with my body atm, but since resetting FF it is saying AF is due on monday, so we'll see what happens.
Other news, I have to say it, so sorry if I offend anyone or anything like that, but I had one bright light in an otherwhise cruddy day yesterday - DS took his first steps :)
I was so happy and proud of him, took his first 5 steps around 5:30, and by 7 he'd managed to make it from halfway across the loungeroom and down the hallway before finally falling over between the kitchen doorway and the doorway of his room (approx 6m distance).
Just thought I'd share it, as even on our most down days there is always one little ray of light :)
Sending baby dust and sticky vibes out to everyone!
Dexy! Hope the trip to the city was good despite the reasons. DH took me on a drive today into the city - about 10-15 mins away. It was so nice to be out of the house, seeing the world, but still relaxing and of course it's a beautiful sunny autumn day and I was with DH. Perfect.
Good news about being transferred to a "normal pregnancy unit". Although being classed high risk does mean you get "good service".
Say hi to your DH for me. It's really sweet he asks after me. How did he enjoy the scan? I reckon for them it makes the whole thing seem a lot more real.....
I am coping ok with being at home. Have been home for almost 3 months now. It's a paradox for me, I couldn't imagine getting this far along, but at the same time have faith that I will get to the end, and have our bub in my arms.
Am feeling a wee bit anxious as I haven't felt baby move as much lately as I have been. Then the little things start to be noticed like Oh my breasts aren't sore, and my aversion to the smell of leather has lessened. But I managed to convince one of the cats to sit on my chest whilst I was laying down and when they walked off, my god it hurt. So reassurance on that front. And then yesterday arvo the smell of leather was making me feel sick so more reassurance. I am trying to ensure the anxiety doesn't get the better of me. Whilst my obstetrician welcomes my calls, I take the view I won't always have a kindly obstetrician to run to every time I feel anxious about something. So I try to work my way through it, but will call Monday if it hasn't resolved. Monday seems sooo far away but it will be here before I know it.
Gemini - I have the Crows Carlton game on in the background whilst typing this.... score is 11 to 25 to Carlton, but the Crows seem to have put together a good passage of play... I don't really follow either team, but like AFL generally.
Awesome, absolutely awesome about your results. It must be such a relief to have heard that Jayden was healthy. Heartbreaking too, because it makes it seem even more unfair. Hope you DTD ( do the deed) asap ( also known as BDing). Can't wait to hear about your TCC ( trying to conceive) antics! Glad to hear you are ok.
I like the power shopping in Target! That is efficient. Hope you enjoyed the drive. * hours return?
Jenna - oh oh, it is usual to feel so queasy for so long..... oh I do hope. Bring on Monday. And just fantastic news about DS. I remember when my niece took her first steps, for me it was the most amazing thing. I suppose its the same, probably even more so, when the little one is your own!
Hi Ladies,
How was everyone's weekend. Mine was not so good, up early both mornings, and both DS's and DD's soccer teams lost :( and the crows lost:( Had a big headache last night which was still with me this morning. Feeling very tired the last couple of days. I fell asleep while we had family over yesterday  seems to be the theme, usually FIL falls asleep, not me! lol
On the other hand, the kids are back to school tomorrow. I love having them around but gee I'm looking forward to seeing them back at school. They get thrown out of routine when their on holidays and start to get ratty with each other. The house has been progressively getting messier each day the kids are home :wall: So I might have the chance to catch up on things myself next week.
We had an earthquake on Friday night. It only lasted a few seconds but the noise, it sounded like a jet was flying in low, and then everything started shaking. It was a bit scary, the last earthquake I remember was about 20 years ago.
Dory, How are those movements coming along... ? I love it when the movements start!!Sickness - Thats a tough one isn't it, because on the one hand, you want that sickness to go away, but on the other hand, when it does lessen, the worry can start. I'm sure you will be fine. It sounds like you have a great Obstetrician. Let us know how you get on. Sending postive vibes your way!
I'm glad you got out with your DH yesterday, sometimes just a little drive can make the world of difference. And on such a lovely day too, that makes it even more special.
Yes I think Country Target was 4 hours there and then 4 hours back from memory. From Adelaide to Berri. There is another store a little closer but we decided to go for a drive out towards Berri.
Jen, wow thats awesome your son taking his first steps  such an exiting time also. Make sure ou have the camera out won't you! You'll have to let us know how you get on Monday. Let's  for a sticky for you soon!
Dexy don't you be working to hard this week! I know it can help pass the time, to work harder than usual, but make sure you look after yourself. Let others fix their mistakes.
Take care!
Gemini - good to hear your weekend was busy if not a "winner". Next week huh? That earth quake must have been surreal and frightening. Glad it wasn't too bad. Did the kiddies know about it or were they asleep? I have this visual of you asleep at the head of the table, mouth open, drooling, and snoring, drowning out your FIL! Hope the sleep helped.
I was a wee bit anxious from Friday til Sunday arvo as there seemed to be a decrease in my feeling the movements. I know its to be expected but still it starts that spark of anxiety and then if unchecked, the fear. I managed ok with distracting myself and just spending time with DH. I was certain I would be on the phone to the Ob requesting a reassurance visit today, but my anxiety settled once the movements increased.
Jenna - it's Monday. What's the news?
Dexy, another week babe! OMG I am so excited for you. Thanks to DH too. Soon I really will be Dora the Explorer - charting new pregnancy terrirtory and adventures. Stay tuned.
AFM - I got another reminder of how lonely this journey can be on the weekend. My GF was having an afternoon tea for friends and family ( who have a horde of little ones between about 8 months and 8 years) and I didn't go, because, one of the littlies had had a high temp during the week which the Dr said was a virus. I felt like such a bum for not going, but there is no way I was going to an intimate gathering where I knew someone had a virus. But still, it made me sad not to go. I was never really like this before, so hypervigilant to "viruses" and it feels a little pathetic to be honest. Like I am hiding from the world, but the reality is that I am isolated from the world at large. I just don't think I can let myself be anything else other than hypervigilant. At least there are no "viruses" here on BB!
Hey Ladies!
Gem - Earthquake?!? Bizzare arent they... All the ground under you shaking violently & not a damn thing you can do to control it!
Jenna??? Where art thou Jenna? Lovely to hear the little one is on the run
Dory - Glad to hear movement is on the improve, I bet your breathing a big sigh of relief! & your so right... uncharted territory soon enough. Hnag in there mate, your doing an incredible job.
AFM 13 weeks 2 days (and I think about 6 hours! lol)
BF MC again last week. She is reaching ou to me to answer all the questions for her & I'm finding that difficult. When I MC she wouldnt even acknowledge it had happened, ( im sure no malice intended, she just didnt know how to deal wit it) let alone say anything. So we just didn't talk about it, I think I even spoke about this earlier in this thread... Anyways, I have real dificulty talking to her about it now. The tables have turned. It quite difficult becuase I want to help, but I still live with the daily wondering & praying also. Trying to remain focused & confident. How do I find a happy medium?
Only time will tell I guess. I'mjust really struggling with the fact that it was akward for her, so I didnt even contact her with what was happening. But yet it is expected of me to be the coach now the tables are turned. Farrrr out.
Well, just a quickie girls - I'm off work today, I need me time with all the ***** thats going on & had a fever all day yesterday... I don't think its a medical drama I think I'm just buggered. Only got 2 hours of sleep Sunday night & that has not happened to me since I was a newborn myself! Lol
See yas later x
Hi guys, AF arrived yesterday while I was in the emergency department. Was somewhat embarrassing too.
My hip has been playing up something chronic for the past week, and yesterday it got to the point where I couldn't walk, sit down, lie down, stand up, kneel, sleep or do anything at all without being in agony and none of the pain relief we have at home was working.
So anyway, went to emergency yesterday afternoon, saw a really nice lady doctor (Aussie too, usually we only have those foreign doctors that you can hardly understand in our local emergency department lol) and she did a few tests (first time any doctor has done those tests on my hip, and it's been 2 years exactly now since I started having trouble with it).
So lady doctor thinks I need to see a rheumatic specialist as I don't have full feeling on one part of my front upper thigh and hip, and have quite severe pain elsewhere on my thigh, hip and lower back on the left hand side (it's the left hip that's playing up btw).
Left there at 8:30 last night with a pack of tramadol... which seems to be working a bit (at least well enough that I can actually get to sleep at night lol).
Booked in to see my doctor on friday (was booked in for 2 weeks time to discuss TTC and MC issues, but managed to change it to an earlier one) so I can discuss my hip & TTC/MC issues with him at the same time.
Hope everyone is doing ok. I'm going to be taking a bit of a break from BB for the next 2 weeks until I get close to O again.
Sending lots of sticky vibes & baby dust out to everyone!!!
Hi Ladies,
Dory I think you did the right thing by you - by not going to your friends gathering. You may feel uneasy about your decision initially, but in the next 6 months or so, you will be grateful of your decision. As they say, better to be safe than sorry and I would have done the same thing. A virus is the last thing you need right now. I agree with Dexy, your doing a wonderful job. You do what you feel is right for you and your little one.
As for the earthquake, the little ones slept through it and didn't believe me in the morning that we had one, even after seeing it on the news. Luckily, it wasn't like the recent one from Perth! Ours measured 3.8, Perths was 5 which took down buildings I believe. Thats scary.
Dexy I'm a little concerened you don't seem to be having a good time. I want you to enjoy your time right now. I'm so not liking what I hear about your BF. She is your BF and I guess it only natural for her to come to you. Maybe explain to her that you are having difficulty with this as you are trying to stay positive with your own pregnancy. Explain to her that you understand what she is going through but maybe refer her to books or maybe organisations. Explain to her that it is important to you that you do not become focussed on the topics of MC. I want you to just enjoy some time with her, when you get a chance. Organise to go to the movies or out to lunch or something, if she is willing to do something other than discuss her recent MC. Sounds like you both could do with a break. Even if you hire a DVD and watch it at home. Make sure it's a feel good movie!
I think it's important she still feel excited about your little bundle on the way.
Remember, this was her MC, not yours.
Yours is 13 weeks 3 days... and about 6 hours? :D
I know this is pretty basic information I have given you, but sometimes I find with myself, when we're faced with something that we find challenging, the basics is what we can sometimes forget.
You must be getting to that stage of the movements starting... so exciting!
How is Hubby going?
Hope you are over your fever!
Jen - oh you poor thing, I know what you mean, I have problems with my hips too. I'm also being sent to a rheumatologist or however you spell it lol. Mine is at the end of May. Although my hips haven't been as bad during the last couple months, earlier in the year they were causing a great deal of pain and I found it difficult to lay on my side to sleep. Do you get clicking in your hips, mine seem as though they're double jointed, when I lay on my side and move my leg the way I would as if I were on a pushbike, the hip bone feels really weird, like it collapses or something. I too have been complaining about it for a few years but only last year started being taken seriously. Good luck I hope they can work it all out for you and do something about it.
AFM I have a feeling that I will have some good news come June... fingers crossed!
Take care ladies. Think of you a lot, sending positive vibes.. !
