It's wonderful isn't it Dexy, how all of us have come around... For this very short moment each of us is UTD lol Now you don't have to stick it out the 40 weeks if you or baby don't want to but I think it is only polite if you hold off until we here that Dory has delivered first she is waiting very patiently indeed - and queue jumping is just not fair lol I'm just muckin around... nature will do what nature intends...
Jen hope all is well with you dear and the spotting has resolved...
Dory Whats the Story... where is bubs???
Afm I think I have picked up a chest infection DOH, I have hardly stopped coughing since late last night, my throat and chest is quite sore. I don't want to take anything until I see the doc later this morning. No morning sickness, well a tiny bit nausea at times but nothing drastic, hoping it stays that way. Hopefully the doc will do my bloods and I can find out the HCG levels too, it seems they didn't record that from the last blood test.
Hi guys, just stopping in briefly. Scan went really well.
Bub was measuring at 13wks! Finally it's grown a bit quicker lol must be all those lollies and chocolate I've been eating lol
Heart rate was 150bpm, so 2bpm less than the 9wk scan, but still all good.
AND.............. it's a little wriggler! It was kicking and wriggling and turning around in circles (not that there is much room in there, which made me a bit worried... its it normal for the sac to be slightly flat and jellybean shaped? Also, I could see the edge of the sac in the picture we got... that seems a bit weird to me!
Anyway, I now know that it is defiantely bub that I have been feeling moving, as while I was having the scan I felt some it's more energetic kicks and wriggles while I was watching them on the screen. It was so amazing! It's been wriggling all morning too, especially just after I finished my brekkie of Nutrigrain lol
MS is almost gone - only had 2 days out the last 5 days where I felt a bit queasy in the mornings and that was yesterday and today. Although, I was watching bondi vet last night and they made a dog throw up to get a g-string that it had eaten out of its stomach and it almost amde me hurl watching that.
Gem - Congratulations - somehow admist my own gloom I missed your BFP post in here. I am so so so so happy for you. AND I love your ticker.... it will be so good to see it move along. Sorry you're feeling off colour - there are certain antibiotics you can have whilst UTD that should help clear that nasty infection. Did you get M/S with DS?
Jenna - that is awesome news about your scan! Well done.... every day is a step closer.... are you showing yet? Did you have MS with your DS? Glad it seems to be subsiding anyway. I can't watch Bondi Vet even though I love animals and wanted to be a vet. I find it just too upsetting. But I seem to be fine with those medical shows like RPA and Emergency etc. Thank goodness our dogs never ate things like that... cause if it doesn't come up they have to operate...all just a bit traumatic for a g string which has no nutritional value!
Dexy - I just love your description of yourself - and finally after a couple of days of being gloomy and weepy with some help from a special friend, I can describe myself like that. You can queue jump if you like, I mean 34 weeks is awesome, but I would like bubs to stay snug for you for at least another 3 weeks til 37 - it's just better all around. At this stage belly rubs are much better than mumma cuddles but after 37, mumma cuddles are the best! I am at the stage of wanting mumma cuddles instead of belly rubs. I honestly never imagines that all of us in here would be UTD at the same time.
AFM - I am a bit happier physically today too - last night about 7pm the braxton hicks came back after mostly stopping when the stitch came out last Thurs. Even though they're still not regular, most of the time they are stonger and it just reassures me. The soreness in my pubic bone is not so bad today thanks to a lot of icing ( what a weird place to ice!) and I have been doing some light exercises. My hands whilst still numb and tingley and feel like big fat sausages but are not hurting as much. The one bummer is that I had a few good chomps on my tongue last night in m sleep, which is now really sore, but I have decided that's a good excuse to have jelly and icecream for desert tonight and I have been hitting it with things that have vitmain C in it or yoghurt - for some reason they make it feel better. So all in all the little gloomy monster seems to have mostly gone away. Phew! I didn't like being that weepy and pathetic all the time.
WooHooo I got into BB.... has anyone else been having trouble getting in here?
Dory - 40 WEEKS why does your ticker say 2 days to go? Has labour started for you yet? Time for you to enter the world lil one
Jen - I tried to explain to DH tonight while I was in the supermarket that lots of chockies and lollies will make baby bigger... "Just ask Jen" I said. But he didn't believe me lol... hope everything is going well with you and yours.
Dexy - Hope your well.
AFM At 3w6d, by my dates, hcg was 558.2. First blood tests all came back normal. Am having another test for hcg this friday. Been sick with a flu since about thursday, was in bed all weekend feeling sorry for myself lol. DH was slowly loosing patience listening to me complain but put up with it without too much fuss, bless him. What would we do without our DH's. I have an ear infection and am on more antibiotics, but apart from the infections, flu, unsettled belly, sleepless nights, sore throat, sore chest etc etc I feel GREAT... ... I think I'm slowly coming good. Just hoping that my sneezing stops before I do some damage. I already hurt my back and my ear from sneezing and blowing my nose lol but I'm in good spirits
and waiting very patiently Dory... c'mon Dory's bub... !!! "It's Time"
Gem - not sure why my ticker says that. I put in all the right dates, and that is what it came up with. You sound hilarious - being thrilled despite feeling miserable. Keep up the high spirits.
the bigs day is Thurs, unless anything happens sooer. I have come to terms with a caesarean now and am excited to know I am meeting bubs 19 months to the day that I met Ameila. I like the sychronicty of the dates of "23rd". And only 2 sleeps to go. WOOT WOOT.
Quick stop in girls... I'm actually on my iPhone in bed! Lol.
Dory my love and best wishes are with you gorgeous one! How incredible tomorrow is the big day! Can't wait to hear the big news!
Gem great hcg result! How encouraging! Hope your feeling 100% again super soon x
Jen hope your feeling better too and MS had drifted away! Your doin a great job love. The new addition will be here before you know it.
Big day ahead girls so best I get cracking!
Dex x x x
Dory where are you with your news.... ? ? ? We're busting to hear all the details! Hope everyone is well.
Dexy Not long to go for you. You must be getting excited about the time drawing nearer.
Jen How are you doing? Is that M/S dissapeared now?
AFM I am slowly getting better from the flu etc, but now my belly is slowly getting unsettled with the hcg rising. Speaking of hCG at 3w6d we were at 558.2 and then at 4w5d we were at 5267. I have had a look at Normal High and Low hCG Pregnancy Hormone Levels | BabyMed.com and my levels seem a little high. I am glad they are high and not low. I will request another test next week, and then the week after that we have U/S booked where we will hopefully see a healthy heartbeat and a little tiny bubba bigger than a ball of cells lol... my doc said that the hCG results put us around 6 weeks... so that is good for being only 4w5d... !
Hey guys, just popping in briefly before I go to bed - WE HAVE THE INTERNET CONNECTED!!! I'm so excited, loving being able to get on whenever I want now lol.
Anyway, I had a bleed on wednesday last week - woke up with approx 2tspn's of bright red blood accompanied by regular cramping, so rushed to hospy and had to wait 6 hours before I was seen. Finally got in to have a scan and bub was doing ok, thank god! Even put it's fingers in it's mouth for us just to let us know everything was going good.
No sign of where the bleed came from - as it was with the spotting I'd had previously - but we had been to the Melbourne Show the day before and I'd overdone it a bit with the walking and we didn't get home until after midnight as the V-Line trains weren't running from Flinders St, so the stress of waiting for a bus to take us to Pakenham so we could get on the train there and then having to wait 45mins for the train to leave Pakenham probably contributed as well.
Everything is good now - on couch rest until the 6th when I see the midwife again (I was in emergency when I was supposed to be having my first midwife appointment, and luckily the midwife was able to come down to emergency to see me so we got all the basic stuff done, just have to do some other paperwork now and book into the hospital).
So I'm just crampy and achy and have a pinched nerve in my back that is making it hard to sleep, just taking panadol as often as I'm allowed as that seems to help a little bit.
Anyway, I must go as I'm exhausted and need to get some sleep.
Hi Jen, glad to hear everything had a happy outcome. Its always scary when things like this happen, regardless of the activity we have been up to. Take it easy ok.
Dexy how are you going? About 23 days to go... not long now! Have you everything ready?
Dory we're waiting to hear your goss... Hope your settling in well with bubs and your getting heaps of rest. Look forward to having you back online!
AFM I have been so tired lately. Last night I went to bed about 6:30pm and I got up at about 8am this morning. I took it very easy on the couch with the kids watching movies today and went to bed again just before DH came home at 4:00 to sleep for another 4 hours... I am feeling really ill today, which is good in one way because the other morning when I woke up, I had no symptoms at all. I got my hcg results that morning which was a blessing to have. It's really unusual because they say that usuually women will feel worst in the morning upon awakening but this when I feel the best. As the day goes on the worse I feel. I swear DH is sick of hearing me say "Babe... I don't feel well" Yes dear" he says... poor man. He puts up with a lot as I am not shy in telling him constantly that I am feeling sick. He just says "Thats good" thinking if I am not well, obviously things are progressing well... He is making me some choc chip muffins at the moment (drools) we have a special way of making them, we had banana to the recipe, so I hope I can eat that without feeling like I need to bring it back up again. I think if I was to physically be sick it might relieve me of the symptoms. Wishful thinking??
Having another hCG test early next week, I asked the doctor if he thinks they are a little high for my dates but he is similiar to my way of thinking and told me not to worry unless they are low. We have dating scan on Fri when I will be 6w6d by my dates... can't wait. There is all this talk about twins and I am getting very anxious to make sure there is only the one heartbeat... !
Danni - your HCG results are awesome! Mine at around 6wks were only somewhere around 15,701! You've got one really sticky little bubba in there... I wouldn't be suprised if it turns out that there is 2 or 3 in there lol And the tiredness is normal too, I start getting drowsy around 4pm, and I'm normally the one who stays up until 1am before heading to bed and then stays up for another hour or 2 with insomnia lol
I was almost right about Dory making it to 41wks too lol except she beat me to it by having the c-section booked in, clever clever girl I hope she's enjoying her time with her little girl. I got so happy and excited when I saw her BA that I cried!
Anyway, I really must go to bed, I'm really really really tired and almost falling asleep at my desk.
Gem - those levels are awesome! Sorry you're feeling sick, but it is a good sign... I think we tell ourselves that to make it bearable. A scan in less than a week... awesome!
Jenna - look at you - 14 weeks now. How are you feeling? And thanks for crying about the BA... I did too.
Dexy - hope you're going well.
Little blossom is waking up and I am going to go and feed/change/nurse/love her. I had a bit more sleep last night and DH settled Hannah at 10pm when she had a lot of wind. DH managed to put me to sleep too. What a star. So, today looks much better with a bit more sleep. Hannah bear is getting more serious now, so I am off.
Oh, I wrote up our birth story in my blog if you're interested.
Love to you all. And belly rubs for those sticky bubbas.
DORY Thats enough, no more crying... I need a new box of tissues. You have written a beautiful birth story and, aside from all the tears, I enjoyed reading it. Thank you for sharing your story with us, but please, I am so emotional right now... No, really I am just so happy for you. You are doing a fantastic job in your new role. You make a wonderful Mummy. You have a wonderful DH to help you with settling Hannah at the nights. Has Hannah settled into the nights a little better? How did your shopping adventure go today??? Oh and I love your new ticker too
Dexy how are you doing dear?
Jen how are you?
AFM I found something that helps relieve me of MS... BBQ chicken... as soon as I put it in my mouth, my belly feels instantly better... strange! So it's been chicken sandwiches all round today. I know we have to be careful with chicken, but honestly, if it helps my sickness without needing medication, surely keeping to fresh chook can't be too bad. I won't eat it after a day though.
Sleeping, sorry Dory but it seems I am doing your share of sleeping lately. Friday night I think it was, I went to bed about 6:30pm after feeling quite ill. I slept through till about 8:30 the next morning. I feel great in the mornings but start to feel sick as the day progresses. I was in bed again by about 4pm that afternoon. Slept for about 4 hours then got up and finished watching a movie with DH. Then back to bed about midnight and slept for another 9 hours or so... I am just so tired. I have been yawning my head off today too.
BBQ Chicken! That's awesome Dan! ROTFL!
Little tired too by the sounds of it! Rest us lovely one - You have the golden ticket! Eeeekkkk!
HCG's look fantastic too! I refer to them as the 'magic' numbers ;-)
Dory - Left a post on your blog gorgeous girl. So very very excited for you & looking forward to hearing all about Hannah's journey's!
Jen - Hope you managed to find a bed rather than falling asleep at your desk! Lol
AFM - Feeling great. Really trying to slow down thou, I always 'talk' about it & somehow it never happens! Friends & family keep telling me I need to take it easy & honestly, they are right... I'm just too go-go for my own good. BUT I have no plans of leaving the house this week except for a gigantic grocery shop & my check up appointment on Thursday evening.
I'm getting checked weekly just to make sure that pre-eclampsia doesnt make an appearance & if it does we catch it quickly. (Both my mother & sister also had it with both of their pregancies too) It was very sudden with my previous pregnancy, not a major major issue compared to most. But enough that I was induced within 48hours of my first blood pressure spike as it came along with all the other classic symptoms. Better safe than sorry!
But yes in true Dexy form, I'm a nerd & I have a blood pressure monitor at home! Lol! I mentioned to mum that 'maybe' I should hire one from the chemist, just incase I felt the need to use it & then.... Mum pulled one out of her bloody cupboard! So I guess I get my well prepared ways from her :-)
Baby is still super active, quite often takes my breath away moving about in there. But we are head down & ready to go! Or at least I am...
Well, enough from me - Love to each of you & your babies!!!
Hi everyone, just stopping in briefly, sorry I haven't been posting much lately, but have been sick and super tired and by the time I finish what I need to do on FB I'm usually too tired to get on here.
afm - anyway, had my midwife appointment this morning. Went well, but the poor midwife tried for 20 minutes to find bub's heartbeat with the doppler and couldn't find it, and it was rather painful as she digging it in and it was pinching my skin and stretching my c-sec scar, so she had to get another midwife in and she found bub's heartbeat within 2 minutes. So amazing to be hearing it at only 15wks 2d!
Only thing I'm disappointed about is that I now have to wait until 22wks before I get my morphology scan and can find out if bub is pink or blue I was hoping it would only be 3 weeks until we found out, but now I have to wait 7 looooooong weeks!
Jenna - sorry to hear you're so sick and tired. Get all the rest you can... but you know that How is DS? He turns 2 this year.. bet you wonder where that 2 years has gone? I am glad you got to hear bubs heartbeat, but it must have been hard during the time it took to find it..even if you're strong with yourself, I find my mind would always go down a particular path if things took longer than I thought they should. The next 7 weeks will seem like ages, but then you'll be into the "20's" - how very cool - over half way there.
Dexy looking forward to hear your news soon. I hope everything works out well for you and the blood pressure stays just fine. Fancy your mum having one in her cupboard... lol Finally taking some rest I hear, thats great... I bet you have spent the week preparing for baby instead of resting... ! Hope your appointment goes well today too. Your getting closer and closer...
Jen that would have been hard waiting for the HB to be found. I can't remember how far along you had to be before they could start to hear with the doppler, maybe it is still very early. Pitty you have to wait 7 weeks for your next scan. I thought it was bad enough waiting until tomorrow, I booked the appointment about 3.5 weeks ago lol. Maybe if your concerned they might give you another scan for reassurance. Why did they want to leave it until 22 weeks? Seems a little long to keep a pregnant lady waiting doesn't it?
Dory hope everything is going well with your little bundle of joy. Miss having you in here all the time to chat. I was only joking when I said that's enough I love to read about your journey.
AFM Well where to start, ok, so yesterday I thought I would venture out with the kids (it's their last week of holidays) I took them to lunch with my mum and I was going to do something with them afterwards but I felt so sick. I had something to eat and struggled to keep it down, bought a drink and couldn't drink it. Mum just looked at me and said, don't do it on me. But I didn't do it, and I still haven't. I left feeling quite ill, I had a few other things I had to do so I did that and afterwards I decided to call into the shops to get some cordial to try. I hadn't been drinking hardly anything so I needed to find some way for me to drink. I decided to call into the chemist and I said to the lovely lady behind the counter. "My doc told me not to take anything for M/S, but I really really need something". "Your not prgenant are you"? She asks.... Ahhhh well i'm not sure why anyone would have "Morning Sickness" if they are not pregnant I thought. "Yes I am pregnant" I replied. She got one of the other peoples to help me. I finally got my hands on some tablets that are used for travel sickness. I took one when I got home and felt so much better.
While I was at the shops I found a new friend, we have spent every moment together since we met at the shops. Been so helpful to me has this new found friend. Comforted me and stayed with me and is with me right now as we type. My new friends name is Raspberry Cordial.
I spoke with my doctor the other night, he rang me to give me the results of my hcg levels. I think he wanted to reassure me himself that everything is just fine as I rang last week and questioned the hcg levels suggesting that they may be a little high. He gave me the numbers for my last test which was 71,770 @ 6w3d, surprisingly wasn't as high as I thought it might have been, but thats because the doubling time has stretched out a little now to 4 days. It is still off the charts in comparison. I know people suggest it could be that I am further along than I thought etc but I have the date of the last AF, so unless I O'd within about a week of last AF I don't see how I could be further along.
Anyways we are going for our scan tomorrow, actually they just rang me to confirm the appointment, "Yes, I am looking forward to it" I told her! Mum told me last night that she wants me to ring her right away after the scan to tell her. "Tell you what" I asked. "Tell me if it is twins" she said. "Oh right, for a moment I thought you wanted to know the sex, which we won't know for quite some time" LOL all this talk about twins has DH shaking in his boots, I keep telling myself, and him, it is not twins. But like I said to him, I can't just take one back if it is twins lol So yes I am looking forward to the scan tomorrow and going by my hcg levels I assume that I will be seeing a little tiny heart beat - and just the one of them would be just lovely
Anyway thats enough rambling from me, I hope everyone is doing just fine. Belly Rubs to everyone, and you too Dory, your belly doesn't want to feel left out
Just thought I would drop by quickly and let you know how I got on with our scan today. So...
Our scan went really really quickly. I got there about 30 mins early because I hate being in the car with a full bladder. After spending a few moments at the reception I walked down to the waiting room and was called in within a minute. I was out again in about 10 minutes. But the waiting room went from being just me to being full by the time I came out... So anyways, the important stuff bubs is doing well. There is only the one in there. I know I am getting a little far ahead of myself but for ease I call our little one bubs or he/his (hoping for boy) He looks like a little blob lol but bigger than just a grain of rice though hehe. He measures 2 days further along but we are keeping the dates the same. He looks like he has a halo in one of the pictures they gave me, perfect little one already He is 11.3mm long and by the looks about 7mm wide lol and his HB was 153bpm. It bought a tear to my eye to hear the HB, it was a very emotional moment for me and DH was stoked to hear the HB and so relieved to see just the one little bubs in there It's been a wonderful day for us today.
