hello babyhopes,
sorry i ahvent been on for awhile, how is everything? sounds like chris is giving you some good advice, im so glad we have bb! (suck, suck)
i have read on here elsewhere that when the docs do the d&c they sometimes scrape too much, taking away the endo lining meaning it can take months to regenerate enough to get af.
This week has been the best for me so far but has also had its drawbacks, my bros g/f was admitted to hospital because she was still passing big clots, when they did the us they realised that the embryo is actually stuck in her cervix and has adhered to her cesarean scar! they were worried becos she was losing so much blood and on the us they can see her uterus is full of it too, they wont do a d&c cos they said it was too risky, they wanted her to have an injection to deteriorate the cells, she refused and they sent her home! i cant believe that! anyway, if she is still bleeding and hasnt passed it by next thursday, they said they will do the surgery. What a stuff around, the poor girl! i dont understand why they didnt just do the d&c in the first place, the docs she had sounded like right morons! sorry im having a vent.... i just cant believe that it got to this.
i am trying to do the right thing and be supportive of her as i dont think she has many people who she is close too, not that we are but... well, shes almost family!
anyway i will check back to see how you are doing, have a good weekend

Hi Baby hopes
I've been thinking about you today I hope everything is ok.
Hi Starrysky
Thanks for the compliment!!! The condition your talking about is called Ashermans syndrome. (I have been told by Dr that I have it and was at the RHW last month). You can get it a few different ways but most common is during a D&C.
Some Drs make me wonder how they passed medical exams!!!!!
Dr at hospital sent me home at begining of m/c and told me to go to GP to get u/s next day. (that was the start of my night mare its been 1 yr this monday and it is still going).
I hope your bro's g/f goes to a different hosp and gets a second opinion (I have choice of 2 hosp). It's great that your there to help her. She probably feels very lost and helpless at the moment if she has no one she is close to.
Take care
Chris

Hi Starrysky
Your bros g/f is probably turning to you because she knows you have been through it already. She is going through a really bad time by the sounds of it I really feel sorry for the poor girl.
Is the baby still stuck and adheard to her cesarean scar???
Take care
Chris

Last time we spoke it was all still the same except they agreed to do the d&c now.
The poor girl is convinced that she will die under the anaesthetic but she didnt want to have the injection.
I dont know, i dont like to think how i would have coped if it was me, i wanted the d&c straight away, i could not stand the thought of having my poor dead baby inside me, and that was only for 12 hrs.

hey babyhopes,
well thats not good! well in a way at least now you and they know something is wrong and what it is and now you can get on top of it.
Take things a day at a time, by the sound of it, this is really all getting on top of you, you sound a bit overwhelmed. I understand, i would be too!
It might sound a bit naff but all this is in preparation of getting your body back to its healthy self so you can carry the baby i know you so want.
There is light at the end of the tunnel and i am always not far from the puter if you need to vent, talk, whatever.
thinking of you

Hi Baby hopes
My heart goes out to you as I have been where you are now.
At last your got someone helping you, not stuffing you around.
The tabs you got are they 2 anti biotics??
My word of advice is take it day by day as it could be a rocky road. I agree with starrysky as that is what I have done (I'm not saying that you will take 12 months like me). Its better to be healthy so you can have a trubble free preg plus there is less chance for another m/c (heaven forbid).
Starrysky How is your bro's g/f ???
Take care
Chris

hi chris,
i spoke to her on wednesday, her mum ended up taking her back to hospital that day (wed) as she started passing big clots again, they did a us and said that the embryo has now passed but there is still a lot of retained "product", meaning she has now been scheduled to go back for a follow up us this tues and if it is all still there she will have the d&c then.
The whole thing seems so bloody ridiculous, just do the d&c already!!!! sorry minor outburst!
babyhopes? are you still around? thinking of you......

Hi baby hopes, sorry to hear about your m/c. Not sure if this helps but when i had my m/c my GP told me to keep taking the folate/ folic acid tablets & to up the dose. Hang in there, i hope everything works out for you.
-
Hi girls
Jo Jo - I was also told to take more (than what I was taking) folate after my miscarrage. I think it must be a standard thing as they say that it is supposed to prevent a miscarrage from happening.
Baby hopes - I also am waiting the 2 weeks for af as I (and my 2 monsters) had a bad case of food poisoning so the ttc was put to the side. (I can't win!!!!:wall:)
Starrysky - I feel so sorry for your bro's g/f. the Quacks she is seeing should have helped her b4 this. They have made her life a missery for too long. She should have had a D&C when they found out her baby had passed away not way down the track.
Hope you are all well and happy
Take care
