    Very early loss (TMI warning)

Hi, I didnt really know where to post this as it is more a question than anything else.

I am in the middle of losing a very early pregnancy. It started last wednesday when I thought that I had finally got AF, cycle day 49. I have PCOS so irregular AF is not a big thing for me. Although I had felt pregnant, so even though it wasnt planned I was quite dissappointed to get AF. (TMI) It wasnt even a proper bleed, it was kind of pinky brown and very light. I was even able to go back to a panty liner. By Friday full AF had still not shown, so I was getting cautiously excited that maybe I was pregnant and I was just getting a breakthrough bleed. So I went and got a test planning to do it the next morning. During the night I felt really sick and got bad cramps. I decided to do the test the next morning anyway, knowing that I could be losing a baby, but ready to deal with it. Well the test was a now I see it now I dont positive, so I am pretty sure my HCG levels were not high enough to get a definant positive. Which makes sense as that day I started to really heavily bleed (sat). Today I am still heavily bleeding with a few small clots. I am up to my fourth maternity pad so far today. I feel sick on and off and am soooo tired.
My question is, how long will this last? I just want it to be over.

I am alright emotionally, I think because I actually wasnt TTC, as I know I would have been devestated otherwise. Dont get me wrong I am sad, but, I dont know it's hard to explain.

Physically though I am, tired, crampy, headaches all those horrible things.

    Thanks for reading.

    Love

Helen, I am so sorry for what you are going through. Big hugs to you.
Fourth maternity pad? Maybe it's time to go to the Dr. When I had my m/c's I did bleed more heavily but not as much as it sounds like you are. Although I had a d&c both times too before I bled all that much. But afterwards there still wasn't that much blood. More than a normal period and clotty, but not copious amounts. And it was over after about 7days. Maybe see the Dr. anyway to see what they say?

After my 2nd miscarriage (5 weeks, chemical pregnancy) i bled for 3 days very heavily (sitting on the loo it sounded like i was peeing, the blood was just running out for the first day) then normal period for 4 or 5 days, then spotting for 5 or 6 days. The spotting tailed off rather than stopping. I hadn't had a D&C.

hun, i'm so sorry for your loss.

My first m/c I bled lightly on and off for two weeks & my second and third ones were like an ordinary AF for me which is 3 days plus some clotting. Everyone varies in how long they bleed for - it can go on for weeks, but normally with early ones it's over and done with pretty quickly. If you are still bleeding heavily then go see your doctor as you may need to have a D&C.

Thanks for your support guys. I think I will wait and see how I am going on Thu, Fri. Leith has those days off work so I should be able to get to a dr then if the bleeding is still heavy. I must admit though I dont want to go.

Helen - I am so sorry you have to go through this... It is not fun.

I had a similar experience to you last month... i had spotting for about a week, did a hpt and got a bfp, then AF showed up. I bled really really heavily for 1-2 days then nothing. I was needing to change my pad every 1-2 hours or so, and had severe cramping, but it really only lasted 1 day full on, then tampered off to nothing. I did not have a d&c either.

Thinking of you during this sad time.

Thanks again, it is reassuring to hear all of your stories. The bleeding has started to slow down now, so I am hoping it will all be over in a few days.

I'm so sorry to hear this Helen, especially on your birthday.
With my m/c, I was fairly early (only 5 weeks along) and I had half a dozen HPT confirm I was pg, and when I had the b/t done, my HCG weren't high enough, very much like you. The dr confirmed that day that I was miscarrying. I bled fairly heavy for about 3 days, then it started to ease off. I let nature take its course, and by the 5th day it was over.
I hope nature takes it course with you, and you don't suffer physically too much.

    Hi,

Well the bleeding has pretty much stopped now, I have had a couple more clots, but I am pretty sure it is all over and done with.
I have had a few sad moments, but now that it is all over I am feeling more positive and happy.
Thanks again for sharing your own stories and for all your hugs and care.
