havent done it, but would love to - do you mind if i ask how much $$ this would set you back? How did the biological parent take it, did they have to sign over?

I am so jealous that you are doing this, I wish so much for DH to be DD"s legal daddy

Kitt so far cost me 60 dollars, and UNFORUNATLY yes in most cases i believe the biological father has to sign off on this too thats gonna be our trouble. then i believe there is about a 350 fee again. So honestly not much at all. But told it can take a few years. You need to be married for 2 years prior to starting this adoption process.

the biological father has no idea i am doing this and has been out of his life since 8 weeks old thank GOD!!!!

i too am interested in this for the future. Sperm donor hasnt been in childs life for years. DF has been more active then he has. has no contact. i have gone to court and gotten sole custody so he has no legal rights to her but would love DF to legally have rights eventually

No not yet. Even though she has seen my DF as her dad since we were 2-3mths into our relationship(her choice to start calling him dad) she has only recently started speaking more openly about it and is asking if she can get her name changed to DF's.

I would assume DF and i have to be married 2years before he can adopt her so thats the first thing on our lists. that wont happen until sometime next year as i refuse to be pregnant and/or fat at my wedding (which im both of now).

Im also scared about having to still contact sperm donor. We have nothing to do with him what so ever and want to keep it that way. Also he is the type of person that will try his hardest to stop this from happening to be an ******** towards me even though its something HIS child is wanting. The idiot doesnt even pay the $28 a month child support he is suppose to pay.

That might be the reason that he WILL sign the papers! It will get child support agency off his back.

if teh father is not listed on teh Birth certificate. you dont need their consent.

my hubby addopted my DD well we basically amended the birth certificate to show him as the father and she canheged her last name to his.

we have thought about doing this with his son but his mother would never sign over her rights.

oh that must be so frustrating for you? The biological father will be reserving papers i guess at some point or his lawyers will be on the adoption. Ours will be back dated to the 6th january my last letter said. YAY! THAT person along with adoption papers will also be served criminal compensation claims too. I pray that eh just signs the darn thing and lets us move on.

i hear u on child support try 200 or was it 300 once off payment that was 3 years ago and nothing since then. I DONT want his cash tho. I hear u on not wanting them getting back into ya life i have filed for our adoption to be hurried up. Also have applied that the EX whom has not been around since 8 weeks does not know our current location or any name change i have gone through for safety reasons.
