Been wondering when you start.
Don't forget the first of anything is scary but you will do fine as it's want you want.
Don't forget you will not be the only mature aged student and the others will keep you young
Take some tuckshop money cos you will want to have coffee with your new uni friends.
Smile a lot - you will meet lots of people, don't be afraid to say "Sorry I've forgotten your name".
Oh - and do yourself a Big Big favour - go to the library and book yourself in for their how-to courses - if you do it now you'll be a couple of months ahead of everyone else who will leave it until mid-semester when they are in a panic about their assignments. Never be scared to walk up to the Ask Here or the Reference desk, that's what the staff are there for!
Rivlas - LOL im glad the others will keep me young - cause at orientation day i was starting to feel a bit old!
Marydean - I forgot about tuckshop money! LOL might have to raid DH's wallet! im thinking im going to become a coffee drinker soon??? thankyou for ur tips they are great - exspecially the library one i haven't step foot into a library since who knows when! oh and I can never admit to ppl that i have forgotten their names so im going to have to work on that one!
What does one usually eat at uni? i can't take ham sandwiches got nothing to keep them cool in!
PPL will bring lunch and eat it sitting down wherever there's a patch of grass, a seat or some stairs, either that or go to the refectory, tends to be pretty noisy and busy in those though!
Definitely check out the refectory, but many ppl will bring their lunch so you can too, it's not daggy to bring a lil insulated lunch box with you. You can get away with anything when you're a mature age student LOL.
