I'm pretty sure I've still got plenty of time to grow up. I'm one of those annoying people where stuff falls into my lap.

I just started maternity campaigning as a hobby after my second son was born, and the more I learnt about it the harder it was to deny that this was my future career. I didn't want to be a midwife (in my head) so I spent a lot of time on midwifery forums trying to talk myself out of it. However the more I read the harder it was to fight it. So I guess I didn't know what I wanted to be when I grew up, but someone did and wasn't letting me argue my way out of it

i was chatting to my mum, asking her the same questions and her answer to why i have not career direction is because i just always wanted to be a mummy, even when i was a child, always said i wanted to be a mummy, and my children are AMAZING and certainly destined to change the world in grand and fantastic ways, but i dont want to be defined by my offspring, does that sound weird and selfish??

    Not at all!
I personally took a HUGE pay cut to stay home, but Im much more fulfilled being a mum. we tried for so long, never thought it would happen, so it was a surprise, but one of the best things Ive done.
I DO feel that Im defined by my role as a guide for my children, but I HAVE had a interesting and stressful career, so its a nice change of pace, if that makes sense?

when people ask what my career is, i say, 'im a mummy, ive only ever been a mummy'. cause all the other jobs have had have just been fluff really. the only important thing ive ever done is be a mummy. but i dont want it to be the only awesome thing ive done.

I've always been drawn to medical things. Even at a young age. But by the time I worked out I wanted to be a Dr, I'd missed the application cut off dates (they close earlier) and so applied for nursing instead with the view of doing Post Grad Med. I'm still a nurse. I've never been able to convince myself that I really want to be a Dr.

My weight loss and fitness journey had me reignite my love affair with fitness and for a long time now, I've contemplated entering the world of fitness. After I hurt my back, I really wanted to get my fitness quals so that I could help those who were injured and rehabilitate them as well as prevent relapse. Having said that, I changed streams in my profession earlier this year and am now fortunate enough to work in a role where I get to help PREVENT injuries in the first place! Even better (for me) is that I still have a clinical role so I get to combine the best of both world's!

I say, follow your heart. Remember that everything has boring bits and bits that will make you wonder why you're doing it...but those bits make everything else worthwhile!
