Well, i used a mixture of fitteds and AIOs. THe AIOs i had were small ittis and NB babybee hinds. THe bbh were awesome but yes, the ittis leaked sometimes cause if the leg gape. Didnt bother me though cause they always leaked on dh and never on me
The fitteds i used were buzy bee. I plan to throw in some prefolds for this one also.
Btw, i had a skinny bubba 3kg's so i would think you would have to fit in the chunkyness factor too. Also fwiw, i bought the newborn sized bbh on special for a really good price other wise i wouldnt have bothered as they arent in that tiny size for that long - which is why prefolds are great as you can use them for stuffing or boosting later.

Doesn't sound too bad really, the huggies leaked on me a few times with DD anyway!!

I didn't think about the ability to use the prefolds later as boosters... That's a good consideration!

I found BBH prefolds in small PUL covers worked well for us.
When Baden was bigger we just used the prefolds as boosters
The problem we had is most nappies had huge gaping at the legs...

the best AIOs i found for a nb were bubblebubs and widdlewuns.
basically aplix closing ones, as I alwyas had issues with getting snaps to adjust to suit DS2

that said the best nappies i used (though my babies were both over 4.5kg born) were swaddlebees nb fitted and kissaluvs fitteds.
i used bummis and sbees covers with them.

Well I had a 4kg monster and the leg gape on him was shocking!

I loved the fitteds and a Maz/bummis cover. I had spunkybutts, tots bots fitteds to start and they were awesome. The BBH fitted sucked on a newborn cos they were so huge and mine weren't new so they were that bit stiffer.
